How to use Windows 8 font on real Amiga
Okay, at the risk of getting burned for mentioning Windows8, I must say that I do prefer the standard fonts their new OS uses. I think it is called Segoe UI font, which is most likely a ttf.
So, for someone who wanted to use this in the Amiga environment, how would I go about it? I'm guessing I need to install one of the ttf libraries on Aminet first? Sorry for the newbish question, just been out of the Amiga loop for a long time. Thanks! |

How to use Windows 8 font on real Amiga
They have to be converted to a format acceptable by the Amiga; programs like Final Writer and PageStream can use fonts that the system cannot. I did this 17 years ago and can't remember the details, but if the topic was named "Font Conversion," you would have more answers. See: http://www.tug.org/docs/html/fontfaq/cf_86.htm. I used TypeSmith.

With ttf.library you can use TrueType fonts without conversion.

Or by installing AfAOS package that has embedded support for TTF fonts although it requires RTG.
