X-Fighter
Considering nearly all the major Amiga magazines reviewed this, it's a bit surprising to find it was unreleased, and certainly no rare playable copy of it has leaked out to the scene/web or anything.
Anyone managed to learn/discover any background info on this, what happened etc? |

I was looking forward to this game. Although I think it was made in AMOS, or at least based on a game that was, it still would have been fun to play, and had a heap of characters to choose from.

Written by someone in Thalion (UK) about a year after Thalion (Germany) had closed and gone to BlueByte.
Also known as "Kwok's Game". It was supposed to be a CD32 game but only a disk based A1200 demo exists. Previewed in almost all the magazines in the UK. Supposedly REVIEWED in lots of magazines. Amiga Format issue 73 July 95 Page 66 70% Amiga Power issue 51 July 95 Page 50 60% CU Amiga July 95 Page 53 85% The One July 95 Page 40 85% C&VG issue 164 July 95 Page ?? 85% The demo was given away on a cover disk of "The One" April 1995. |

I believe that it was intended to be a full price version of the PD beat-'em-up Madfighters. I started to track down the author but didn't get far.

I think that is true. The authors name is down as "Kwok Man" and someone of the same name is named as the author of Mad Fighters II AGA
