who drawn the amiga kikstart disk on 1.x?

Hello,
I was wondering who drawn the image shown by Amiga OS 1.x on start-up, asking the user to insert the kickstart disk ?
If somebody knew this or got a link on informations about the creators of early amiga icons wb would be interesting !

Probably R. J. Mical or Dale Luck.

After searching a bit more...

The hidden credits on the title bar say:

Quote:
F6 Pics: Sheryl & Jack
Don't know who these people are.

My guesses:

Sheryl A Knowles
Jack Halyer

Why? They are the only 2 names that match the "Sheryl&Jack" above and signed the inside of the Amiga 1000 case.

???

I tracked down Sheryl and asked her.

She is the artist behind the kickstart hand, and some other icons. :-)

Cheers to Jope!

But why did chocolate_boy reference a deep link? Is he into paper dolls?

Her homepage is more interesting imho. http://www.icynic.com/~knowles/

Great! She needs to add that to her page. Yeah, it's not as fancy as the fantasy work, but LOTS of people saw that!!!

Tell her THANX for being part of the Amiga team!!!

I actually did thank her for her part of the magic we all got to experience. :-D

She also mentioned that GraphiCraft ui design was her handiwork.

I put this together now.. It's 32 colors exact, so it should even do on Amigas!
At least if you mix together a nice palette.

The ironic thing is you look at that picture using a Left Hand to put the disk in.... try it, its virtually impossible, everyone uses their right hand to insert on A500 onwards

That comes from the A1000 days, because the mouse was such a novelty in that time that you wouldn't put your hand off of it and had no choice but use your left hand.

And you are right, i'm a lefty myself and do everything with my left hand. The A500 educated me to use my right hand to put floppies inside a drive, that lasted even to this day!

Stick it in DF1 (if you have an external floppy)
