How does the hurricane 500 board work with an A500?

Greetings! I got an A500 with a hurricane 500 board maybe 15 years ago. I just pulled it out again and it's in sore straights. First it wouldn't boot and I noticed one of the pins that connects to the mainboard was missing!!

I soldiered a little wire to just see if I could get the thing running and I did! It boots up. I found a hurricane config disk but when I run the tool it says it cannot find the hurricane memory.

I'm not sure what I should do with it to try and get it running. I cannot find a manual anywhere on the net. Does anyone have any experience with it?

First thing you should try, as with all old Hardware, Is to re-seat it and all chips thats possible to do. good luck!

I'll try that. Does anyone know if I need to actually install a driver for it or something? I read on a thread somewhere that there was an install disk and a config disk. I only have a config disk.

It's an A500 board and the A500 doesn't have native storage apart from floppies so it's probably similar to the A1000 Spirit board that can add drivers to Workbench. Most likely it has a test program and some simple utilities on it.

Oh duh! I found that site before too. Thanks! Now I have to figure a way to get this transferred to my amiga
