AWeb - Router problem?

Hi

I can't seem to browes the net, I keep getting the following error from Aweb:
Error while retrieving URL: http//www.google.com

Cannot resolve hostname "www.google.com"

According to Genesis: I'm online (green little icon thingie) and the online timer. Aweb boots up ok but the moment I try to browse I get the above message, regardless of which site I try.

I've tried inserting my own IP address and : 92.238:133.35 and the standard netmask via Genesis set-up. Also I can't seem to get Genesis Prefs to work (as it lists umpteen alternative network connection, when i start Genesis)

Any thoughts where I'm going wrong?

I'm using NE2000 PCMCIA ethernet card on a 3.1 rom/OS 3.9/Apollo 030/32mb

PS: Forgot to mention: I'm on virgin and using one of these modem boxes with 4 ethernet ports. My PC had a wee moan about the Amiga share the same network, so I shut the PC down. I've had more than 1 PC running from my modem box without any problems.

I had a couple of goes at sussing genesis out.

First I used the standard 92.238.133.35 then I tried my own IP address.

Genesis couldn't auto-detect my IP

PS: (new box from virgin) I'll need to look into it more.

in genesis you have to set your ip address manualy making sure your address is not the router or any other computer in the system.

you only need your ip and the routers entered in genesis.

it will say its online even if these two are incorrect.

The PC told me there was an 'network conflict' when I powered up the Amiga, I'll need to look into this.

Thanks
