Yeah, imho its very valueable to re-build something where you have a clear goal and all assets in reach. You will learn a lot. And if you ever have the itch for something *new* then you have a much better understanding how things work on Amiga.

A proper version of Pac-Land closer to the Arcades would be nice!

I would like to see a new Side Arms or Rastan approach, at some time.
Rastan with the continue enabled also in the last level, possibly lol. What about some bit later Capcom games, like Black Tiger, Forgotten Worlds or Ghouls'n'Ghosts? Apart the much more work, they would require something better than an A500 to have a good port? |

Id love to see the arcade game TumblePop, never been done on home console or computer afaik (gameboy maybe). I had a bash on redpill but perhaps Scorpion Engine could do this better. Also started a Starforce project. Have a map and ship movement done for Starforce, in fact the gfx were not too bad to figure out.
My AMOS knowledge evaporated as did the smidge of asm i did at college haha Sometimes, if noone is interested, you gotta do it yourself! Probably going to take a few years, dont hold your breath hee. |

This thread and poll are useless.
Graeme ports whatever games he likes anyway; which is fine. Not really sure why he bothered asking people for their opinions in the first place, if being totally honest. |

Y'all know am trying to push for a 3D tiled racer - either a brand new title or for a Fedepede04-style tweak up of PowerDrift, not an easy task, especially for the 500 even with a meg, but am thirsty for revenge ^^

Yup, and if you saw discord sandruzzo/allesandro is looking into it. I will help out too- I vote for an original racer-it's more exciting to do a fresh game.

Double Dragon (Arcade) is (reportedly) in progress
Space Invaders has been remade very faithfully by the bloke with the robot avatar (sorry) Pink handled Gradius gracefully 3 off the list. Raiden: just run Mega Typhoon => you have it Bad Dudes vs Dragon Ninja (Arcade) => start the amiga version, press "pause" and you almost have a still of the arcade (but don't play it) Last edited by jotd; 18 May 2021 at 00:15. |

ROBOT!!!!!!
Daleks are not robots but cyborgs and for that you will be exterminated... EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE, EXXXXXXTERMINATE... I have an idea for a new game involving the daleks and now I know which kitty is going to be my main character. |

Not unlike R-Type II situation I guess, the game is pretty and all, but the code isn't optimized so that it slows down to a crawl when the action becomes frantic. It's something one can notice even when the game runs @60Hz thanks to some NTSC / PAL option the cracking team implemented.

I'd love to see Pole Position ported to the Amiga. Pretty sure you could get it "Arcade Perfect".

The only place I see F1GP running that smooth is in WINUAE emulating a 060 so it is quite disappointing it has to be said on actual hardware from my own experiences. Not sure why given my system is tuned quite well for best performance. Regarding ports, hell yeah bring them on, the more the merrier, the challenge should be worth it and as McGeezer said he can add in a few personal touches here and there. Final Fight and Double Dragon would get my vote but then as already mentioned Double D is being done else where I believe. |

Not just in the context of this thread and the OP but universally? Personally, I'm very much into the idea of porting some stuff but probably only to 512k OCS because I don't think anything later carries with it the same level of cachet. I love the limitation of the original UK spec ( 512k ). Targeting anything else would just seem like cheating. |

I think, 95% of A500 (even back in the days), were a 512 + 512kb expansion. Without expansions, you just can't run a huge number of amazing games. For me, that's sort of an vanilla A500 (with expansion). |

I guess for terms of authenticity we identify most readily with that which is based upon personal experience, my own being an A1000 with no RAM upgrade for at least the first couple of years of Amiga ownership. |

Avoiding a port for my next game as I have already done Space Invaders, Flappy Bird and Dragonfire (still on my USB stick to upload one day, along with a half finished but working Doodle Jump). But if I had to chose, I'd go for Rastan. Not quite Golden Axe but love the music! |
