Victory!

Well, I've just (test-)played VARGULA and I'd ask you whether you've already been at this point (screenshot)?
That's where the crystal can be picked up.
Other question: have you been in all caves? (there are two)

Moreover, I can't for the life of me figure out where *you* are located on the above screenshot. It occurs to me that this is a third cave entrance to the right which I've never found but which also doesn't seem to be needed to complete VARGULA island.
Please describe how to get there.

Hmm, I finished the game 2 years or so ago, but I cannot remember every detail.
I'm sure you know you can transform into different animals by pressing space.

So, I have no idea, but it could be possible that you have to enter a cave before and walk thru it until you exit on the right cave entrance. Sorry, cannot remember more....hope this helps...

this is not Vargula, this is some other island with the dinosaur (I picked up that crystal)

I can transform only into a big bird and a grass-hopper on Vargula but that doesnt help in the level

here's how it begins (attachment) and the red line is the place where I can go any further (there is this strange stone in the rock too, wich I never seen in the game before exept at this place)

the whole level is just this cave and all around the entrance are platforms, so I can't find any other way to enter into the cave exept through that "door"

Only bad thing is that you cannot play the islands in random order

Hmm, perhaps you can fly up very high in the skies and then enter the cave from above ? As I said I cannot remember very much about the game, but I think there was one level where you had to climp up or fly over some building or whatever this is, and then enter from the other side ( or from above ? ).

I can have a look if I still have my savedisk. So you can check if it possibe to transform into more animals on Vargula when you use one of my savegames ? And yes, you can transform into a bat and also a cat. I played the game on a real Amiga-500, but I think I transformed my savedisk to ADF from time to time in case it got damaged.
I will have a look next week when I am home again.

Roll eyes (sarcastic) Copy protection?

I now got the save-state file from NPI and I'm *pretty* sure this is PURPOSE.
On this island, you run against a kind of invisible wall when wanting to enter the cave to the right. It's the very LAST level, so I'm pretty certain it has been put in as a nice "famous last words" greeting by the programmers to piss off crackers.

Someone should give his original to CAPS and we should play the game again up to this point. Be it a bet that we can pass then?

It is a 100% certainty (if nobody else does). The question if not if, but when. My scanner is not working at the moment, so I might have to buy another one before I can scan it.

I don't think this is some kind of copyprotection like e.g. in Skid Row release of Leander.
As I said, I finished this game 2 or 3 years ago and I downloaded it from the net or took it from some CD, but I don't have no original of Odyssey.
Too bad I didn't keep my savedisk Haven't had time to check my HD and CDs for an ADF of the savedisk, yet, but I will do so tomorrow when I am at home.

Btw. the last level is the one in the middle !

If you have the original and no scanner, you can at least CAPSize it in the meantime

Not sure what you mean? We don't have any scans for Odyssey...
