Well then I guess that answers that. I'll just use it as it is then. That was a fun wild goose chase. |

Could someone who bought this BEFORE they switched online store providers, please post an MD5 of the kick.a1200.46.143 file?
I'm trying to use Remus to split the ROM and get the new Intuition up and running, and I keep getting hit with ROM Unsupported. I have a feeling something has changed, because all the videos showcasing this have slightly different copyright notices: Here's a screenshot from AmigaBill's video https://i.imgur.com/lyQSeMy.png And here's a screenshot from my Kickstart screen https://i.imgur.com/hpIUWr8.png I bought my copy of 3.1.4 after the changeover to a new ecommerce store, and notice how mine says copyright Hyperion Entertainment CVBA, as opposed to copyright Hyperion Entertainment? My MD5 is kick.a1200.46.143 : 79bfe8876cd5abe397c50f60ea4306b9 |

Interesting is also that yours says developed under license, and not all rights reserved.

AmigaOS 3.1.4 for 68K Amiga 1200: kick.a1200.46.143 : 6de08cd5c5efd926d0a7643e8fb776fe So it has changed... p.s. I did a quick video/tutorial today for oscillik, On how to use Remus with the 3.1.4 ROM for the intutiton.library. I thought it be useful to post it here to, just in case anyone wants to know. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/327221503 Last edited by betajaen; 25 October 2018 at 20:24. Reason: remus video |

I'm curious about which license this is supposedly developed under. Is this also a sign of Hyperion admitting that they do not have exclusive rights to OS3 sources and development, trying to back-paddle earlier statements?

I would think it's a bit more innocent, that they didn't put the legal mumbo-jumbo in correctly and had to be updated.

I looked into for you to see if I could make a split file for that version. But the files are in binary, and romtools on Github does go into a lot of information, but it seems a lot of it is handy work, and can't be automated.
I think we need to call in a higher power, and see if they can update the file. |

But is that only on the "new" version of the 3.1.4 rom?
I thought that was the case for 3.1.4 in general. Is the problem that there are 2 versions, or just problems with 3.1.4 in general? (I am hoping for a fix to that problem also. I want a ROM I can burn (or get burned) with the new intuition.library built in.) |

I've tried both v1.23 and v1.24, and neither will work with the ROM file I have, which I bought from Hyperion after the switch-over Last edited by oscillik; 25 October 2018 at 21:04. Reason: Clarification |

No, it seems there are two versions for the same 3.1.4 ROM, which both can be kicked in to Fast RAM as with any other Kickstart.
The later version seems to have some copyright text changes on the Insert Disk purple screen. This changed the checksum of the ROM. Remus only works with the earlier version of the ROM, and can't work with the newer version because the checksum is different. Thus can't be customised with the alternate intuition library. For now; if you have the older version; MD5: 6de08cd5c5efd926d0a7643e8fb776fe then your okay, and customise the ROM. If you have the newer version; MD5 79bfe8876cd5abe397c50f60ea4306b9 then you may have to wait, until Remus is updated. |

I have the "old" A500/A600/A2000 kickstart...
Code:
MD5 (emulation_or_maprom/kick.a500.46.143) = 7fe1eb0ba2b767659bf547bfb40d67c4 MD5 (to_burn/kick.a500a600a2000.46.143.bin) = 93acf1c6add079bebf8dc48d47a4d182 |

I guess it needs to be riddled with copyright notices, no source code in sight, and mismatching ROM checksums to give that authentic Commodore feeling.

These are from before the takedown:
MD5 (./emulation_or_maprom/kick.a4000.46.143) = 7431253a40972a3340197c7cc6a28daf MD5 (./to_burn/kick.a4000.46.143-lo.bin) = b1334500c4f7166c57cb608985e58ee9 MD5 (./to_burn/kick.a4000.46.143-hi.bin) = 32be5d149e9a0c3756d79c60b33424f5 and if I re-download the zip from Hyperion's downloads section: MD5 (./unsplit_unswapped/kick.a4000.46.143) = cb79799c9adb2e8f8962fdf07562b362 MD5 (./to_burn/kick.a4000.46.143-lo.bin) = b8a32680ad3599b182a46859ed2e3d44 MD5 (./to_burn/kick.a4000.46.143-hi.bin) = 70bef7388ecbdd0be6fccb7a1c55035d I also compared the ADF images, but they are all the same as before, it's just the ROM files that changed. |
