Quirky game! Jumpin Jackson + french acid I picked up some bonus where food was dropping by the tonne. No idea what the 'personal code' at the end does. |

A simple game, that requires concentration, luck and knowledge of the level layout to score big and get far.
Here's my best so far... 119,430 |

Just a quick question, and for clarification, which mode are we playing?
I have been using Normal and starting at the top-left island (levels 0 to 45) on the selection screen. |

Yes, Normal mode is fine. You can play the levels in whatever order you like, it doesn't make any difference I think.

I had a version of this when I was very young, I think it was the original Skweek. I thought this game might provide some nostalgia but right now I think it may be the worst game we've ever played in the comp...

Really? In a competition that's provided us with such 'gems' as Superfrog, ATR, X-Out, Dogs Of War, War Zone, Nitro, Summer Games II, Robocod, Xenon 2, Indy Heat, Nitro, Menace amongst others that seems quite a bold claim.

Maybe I'll grow into it but my first impressions were not good. and I really didn't like the graphics at all. As a 7 year old these thing didn't bother me, I didn't know any better!
Of course we all have different tastes but you can't possibly believe that all the games you've listed are better than this. Superfrog worse than Skweek! I mean I'm bored of it, but I don't think you can say that. ATR I loved and thought was one of the best, X-Out and Xenon 2 are ok, Robocod was too long but ok to play for a bit. Dogs of War I didn't like and was one of my least favs up until now. From your list I'm guessing you really didn't like Nitro! People are comparing this to Jumping Jackson, well for whatever reason I didn't much like that either, and this seems like a lower quality version. Maybe I could stomach this in a PD round but this just doesn't feel like a commercial game to me. Each to their own, I'll give it a go but I can't imagine playing it that much. |

ATR was a great find. I never played it properly before the compo (maybe some coverdisk demo), but now it's in my top5 games list. And Nitro.. that I've played since the beginning of the times, and it isn't too many weeks we played it through once again in two player mode, great fun And others are very fine too.. what could be wrong in those clasics? I still haven't tried this round's game, but I have a feeling that I should have voted the other one, but as I didn't have time to try either of them beforehand, I declined from the voting... |

For me it's certainly not the worst. The graphics are cartoony and the gameplay is solid (I can't comment on the sound as the sound card in my laptop is broken). I do find it a little annoying that getting a large score is down to luck mostly - I scored 120K by level 10 before, but recently I barely get 80K by level 17! |

I think the worst compo games listed above are not the worst of all time. My list would include: Project-X SE, Magic Pockets, Solid Gold, Jumping Jack'Son, and I'm not fan of Great Giana Sisters either. Summer Games II at least had a fun river section. But by far the most frustrating game, addictive only in the sense of battling with it in the compo for high scores, and perhaps the one which forced a torrent of swear words and rants and screams.... Well.. You know the game I mean Graham, because you programmed it.

Since everyone is doing it; worst games I've played since joining are Crazy Sue, Dogs Of War, Summer Games II.
Both Obsession and Platman are worse than Super Skweek IMO Obsession is reasonably polished but probably the most frustrating experience I've had. |

Just in case you guys were wondering what happened to Graham's witty comeback, he's in Mallorca from 31st July until the 7th August. So that means the inmates are now running this mad house.

Anyone know how Robo managed that insane score?
I was expecting the winning score to be around 500K or so... (FYI: my current best is just over 150K... but I hope to improve on that over the next week or so) |
