Zool Sequel Survey

Hi - if anyone out there remembers Zool on the Amiga then we'd love to get a quick bit of information from them via this survey:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Z3C83YV

If you're wondering why then it relates to this: http://www.shu.ac.uk/news/release.html?ID=757

Thanks!

Really?

The tune kept me entertained, what is it with everyone to worry about speed.
I remember sitting for hours for speccy games to load, only to have them crash, .

Ian's attempted a Zool remake before, back in 2004/05 (when he was still Zoo Digital Publishing) they worked with DDI (Data Design Interactive) on a 3D Gamecube/PS2 version of the franchise. The game sucked bad, and got canned (luckily). DDI changed the lead character in the game from Zool to a gingerbread man, and released the notoriously bad Ninjabread Man (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ninjabread_Man). I think legals followed.

I still have the animated intro video to this Zool remake. Will upload to youtube when I get time.

It's a shame they chose to work with those guys, at the time lots of fans were sending in ideas and concept artwork that was so much better.

Just checked out a Video of Ninjabread Man Wii on you tube and graphicly I think its below N64 standars.

As for loading times of Zool even though not a huge fan of the first installment I had the original floppy ECS version and then on the CD32 Zool 2 and dont remember loading times being that bad -maybe I should have another look.
Zool was quite repetitive needed level codes or just got to borring.

I don't remember the loading times being too bad on the first one, but the fact that you had to listen to the same tune for the whole duration of the game used to drive me insane.

Regarding that intro video I mentioned earlier... I've dug it out from my archives and uploaded it to youtube. Fill your boots.

I have Zool on the Amiga CD32, and it was pretty fun. I'm not sure a remake for the PSP would work, but I could be wrong. Just as long as they don't make it for the Vita which is selling worse in Japan the PSP! (or was based on the figures I read about a week or so back)

Edit:
After taking the survey, they are focusing on the PSP and Playstation. Personally, I think it would be better making it for the Wii, Nintendo DS or XBox Live Arcade. I hope they are successful regardless of the platform they release it on.

i just took the survey and questioned their reasons in the additional comments section about why they are limiting themselves to just playstation portables.

Considering Sony's reputation and poor sales I think that would be a baaaaaad move.

i added that they should have a version for OS4 though
