I'm sure it was built on a SanDisk anyway that's strange.

Anyway I'm looking at giving Ultimate Amiga a major overhaul starting July. Most likely adding C64 As well. Compatible with 3b and 3B+.

1st I need to finish my other 256gb Image project by the end of this month.

The 4GB Pi4 seems to be out of stock everywhere.

On the bright side there's finally proper HEVC/x265 support, I've been waiting for that.

Haha beat me to it, I was going to mention the Pi4. Although I'm not 100% convinced it's much better than for example the odroid-n2, in terms of performance. On the other hand, I think the Pi 3B+ is already fast enough. There's also the issue with lack of good cases for the Pi4, lack of readily available heatsinks and fans.

There's no hardware accelerated x265 playback on Pi1/2/3.

What are peoples thoughts on the 3 versions (extra ram options). In the context of running Amiga emulation or other systems/emulators.

Meh, not in a hurry to pi up a pi4, ill wait till retropie software catches up with the hardware first.

My Shield TV Pro can play any video file I throw at it with ease, So I mainly use my Pi for retro gaming.

Go for the 4GB version, not because emulators require it, but because you'll be able to do more at the same time, maybe even run Windows 10, although the sd card interface is still sluggish and you should get a proper ssd drive or one of those fast samsung 256gb thumbdrives ($99 at jbhifi).

I think, if you're going to do another compilation, split it into two - retropie OS on the sd card and all the Amiga files on a separate drive (maybe just as an archive instead of a disk image). We have more options now with the new USB 3 controller.

External Storage and Pi's can be a bit tedious when compiling an image that will be able to function for everyone with pi's. Hence why images all on one micro is the best method.

Received my Pi4 4GB today, good news, it doesn't run as hot as my Pi3.
I've installed latest LibreELEC alpha for Pi4 and left it running playing H.264 720p/1080p stuff for five hours straight and it hasn't exceeded 62° C (waiting for a Flirc case, so should be even lower).
My Pi3 went way beyond 70° C even with heatsinks fitted and case open.

Loads of these images have the same issue on arcade punks too.

I had to mount the image in Linux and shrink the partition to be able to fit on my sandisk cards.

I wonder if the authors of these images would be able to shrink them down a few gb to fit on most cards, and then auto run a partition expander on first boot. I think it would solve a lot of the "help! My image won't fit" that I see on FB and forums quite a lot.

I don't host on ArcadePunks. My images only come from one source. Any where else your playing with fire.

As for shrinking.. No. I don't shrink and never will. I make these images on a samsung quality micro. So I recommend these for flashing. Any other card I can't help you with, otherwise you will have to trawl through Google for solutions.

Sandisk micros are always smaller in size vs Samsung micros hence why you have the "can't fit" issue.

Shrinking causes all sorts of confusion with newcomers to pi making them wait 2 to 3 minutes on 1st boot, then unplug and re boot pi for the 2nd time for it to work. This is a reason why shrinking is bad.

Not yet. I have it working on 3b+, but I need to update the image, 1st priority is updating all my hdfs, which I'm about 1,300 into it, after that I update UAv3
