Whatever Happened to Brian Bagnall?

Wayyy back in July 2008, I pre-ordered the second edition of Brian Bagnall's book about the history of Commodore. I'm referring to the updated version that supposedly "... includes additional interviews and first-hand material from major Commodore figures like marketing guru Kit Spencer, chip designer Bill Mensch, Commodore cofounder Manfred Kapp, and infamous CEO and President Jack Tramiel."

Every so often Amazon has emailed me saying the product is delayed, until finally, today, they have told me that they are unable to obtain the book and my order is canceled.

Amazon's page for the book indicates that there is some joker out there claiming to have a copy for sale for the bargain price of $426.67.. I find it hard to believe they really have a copy though. They probably have the first edition, if anything.

Does anyone out there have any info on what happened with this book?

I bought it some years ago, first i tried ordering it from Amazon but they just kept pushing the date when they should get it. So i ordered it directly from http://www.variantpress.com/books/on-the-edge

EDIT: noticed that it's sold out there too. :/

The second version is supposed to be called Commodore: a company on the edge or something.

Happy

I too had the 2nd edition on back order. I did a thread about it in the News section at one point!

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=38277

Cancelled it soon after as it became apparent they were not going to ever release it

Looks like Brian has dumped C= for Lego!!!

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Maximum-LEGO...tt_at_ep_dpi_1

So he is still about by the looks of things... hmmm

I got the first edition a few years ago from Vesalia, try to check there.

The book is written in a way that gives you headaches, and many of the reported facts and "interviews" can be found on www or newsgroups.

Nevertheless, I suppose any retro-geek like me will feel like being home while reading it.
