It looks great, is this a 1:1 replica? maybe it could have stronger rear clips as that was always a problem with A600 cases.

Hi,
It is a 1:1. I have added a few more pics to the google drive to check. The case does have a few things that can be tweaked, here is what i have found so far, - the rear clips are indeed too thin, need to be widened and have a taper on the stem for added strength. - the front screw holes are too low and need to be wider to accommodate some brass screw inserts. -the keyboard clips need to be adjusted. the lower keyboard support bar needs a taper from casing to its upper point, the upper 2 clips need a taper to strengthen them so that when installing the KB they are stronger. That is not exhaustive, i will try to find other obvious things to update. The kb is completed, waiting for the updated MX keysets to be finalized. The Keycap sets will be slightly different as to what is shown here, all keys will be identical size except for the spacebar which will be 8.0 (vice 8.25) and the right Alt will be 1.25 (vice 1.0) Last edited by kipper2k; 29 November 2021 at 23:07. |

Is this a 3d print of the design by sgw32? As looking at them side by side, I notice both don't have the recess for the Amiga label
https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-mo...3d-print-model I thought about getting one printed myself for a tester. Looks a nice print though Looking forward to the keyboard and keycaps too |

Thanks for the tip. Was that a JLC print?
I guess I should buy these files and have a look. I was already planning to strengthen the clips, and make a cutout above the PCMCIA for a CF adaptor. Was guessing it's be an expensive print, though JLCs pricing doesn't seem too bad. Were there any other issues or tweaks worth making? |

Yes, JLC. Trying to get a spot ito get it printed is tough, they are very busy k i thought about adding the recess for an external CF card. for rear case clips securing rear top/bottom case together i dont see the logic of 4 sets of 2 little clips. Why not juct make them longer to allow a meatier connection. The cthin clips used are pretty hopeless So... Definately raise the height of the lower holes (recommend an extra 2mm). and increase diameter to allow thes brass inserts to be pressed in... https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000...333c4c4dsiebUR because you raised the height of the lower holes for screws then decrease the length of the upper slots in the top case recommend 2mm). Increase the width of the screw stem on the left hand side upper case to allow the brass screw insert increase the width of that screw stem support to the case, it looks weak. I'll post more as i find them... the lower right rear does not have the holes for the floppy drive support. if a screw support could be added on the right side middle to screw lower and upper cases would be great (same as the A1200) at presient it is too loose. make the rear clips into a much longer clip so they pretty well run the length of the slots. the ones used atm are pretty well garbage Last edited by kipper2k; 30 November 2021 at 01:03. |

Great ideas. The press fit brass inserts may be a bit of a struggle in resin, unless you make the hole a little bigger and set it with epoxy, else you won't be able to heat set them. Unless the plan is to go injection moulded.
I looked at trying to get a screw near the floppy drive but couldn't spot a good place for it. Will has to have a better look. And the clips will definately need sorting out, or just use screws like the 1200.net case |

If the floppy mounting holes aren't present then that also makes me think that's the sgw32 design. I have just bought the files as they are cheap at the moment, so will have a play when I get some time to spend on it properly. Looks about 70dollars to print, which ain't so bad for a case.
What's the feel of it like? |

the feel is pretty smooth, jlc did glass bead blast it and cleaned it up prior. i will try a little dye in a small corner to see if it will absorb it. I see no reason why you could not use this case with a little TLC to protect it

Do you have a price guesstimate for the keycaps?

i connected the RGB2HDMI on screen menu to the new a600 mechanical keyboard i just done. It allows you to use the OSD without adding buttons to the amiga 600. the keyboard is already set up to allow this option. (this will also work on the a500/a1200 mechanical keyboard and it will also work on original keyboards (with my little adapter.

Sounds cool - does this also tie together with the flashfloppy OSD thing that is with the keyboard and OSD for that?
