Coffin OS running in WinUAE.
I don't know if I am on thin ice here, but I have found an blog about how to install on USB-drive Coffin OS and run it with the help of WinUAE.
Here's the blog; Exploring Coffin OS (Vampire) with WinUAE Don't blame me if you scr*w things up on your PC or emulated Amiga. |

Why the hello is the author using a CPU speed "Fastest possible" - 30 %? And the uaegfx RTG card could be run in "Multithreaded" mode for best speed and with more VRAM, of course, like 32 MB. Hardware sprite emulation can sometimes cause problems.
Maybe it should emulate the "slow" Vampire performance? ![]() I think a 32 GB distro is a bit too much of bloatware, but some people are collecting everything they can get. |

You don't need to write the image to the Pendrive !!! You can directly use Coffin's HD image on WinUAE, all you have to do is renaming the .img extension to .hdf. Forcing the load works even without renaming the extension. Important before booting on WinUAE you have to deactivate in the Startup-sequence some commands that serve "only" the Vampire hardware. Also make sure you have the UaeGfx monitor. To edit the startup-sequence go to Early Startup and boot the amiga with Boot without Startup-sequence, this is the command: Ed S:Startup-sequence Last edited by AMIGASYSTEM; 14 July 2021 at 07:04. |

If you are using CoffinOS 57 you can also not change the Startup-sequence but in this case on WinUAE you will have to use the KickStart included in CoffinOS.
If you install AfA OS it becomes much nicer graphically! Last edited by AMIGASYSTEM; 14 July 2021 at 07:04. |
