I never got into those later F1 games. This one just gets it right for me.

Flying off the ramp for the 100th time never got old. I loved that the game wasn't so much about beating the other drivers, but rather *just* *stay* *on* *the* *track*.

Oh man, the first time I ever tried weed I played this game for what felt like hours. It was fully immersive lol. I was spellbound.

I like it, I just don't like how your car gets damaged by even small bumps.

But eh no, I have more fun with Supercars 2 (for its fun track mechanics and violence), Lotus 1/2 (for the speed), Road Rash (satisfying to bash others off of their bikes) and Street Rod (the driving itself is a little clunky, but so loaded with features).

Stunt Car Racer is a technical masterpiece, but that does not qualify it to be the best racer for me. Still a good game though, happy both it and Supercars 2 were included with the A500 mini.

there currently is no competitor to this game and I play it quite a few times of the year. A truly astonishing game like no other

One thing I always like to mention is that the game seems to run more realistically in terms of how authentic the physics feel if you run at NTSC. It makes me wonder if this was the intended speed at which it was run to begin with. I'd advise people give it a go at least. Along with a min of 14mhz too otherwise it's hard to really notice the NTSC difference. I mean obviously NTSC makes a difference to all game's overall speed but I'm referring to how it appears to run physics more authentically to what you might expect if NTSC is set specifically for this game

The WHDLoad turbo mode is nice, but doesn't come even close to the recent C64 hack for SuperCPU accelerator, which runs at solid 50fps [ Show youtube player ]

to be fair it looks a bit silly now. The original C64 version carried a lot of weight to it actually with the physics faithfully intact but this looks odd. Undoubtedly cool but not better
