Anyone know Japanese? Sharp x68000 issues
Hi,
Having watched Retro Mancave's stream of the Sharp X68000 and in serious need of a Japanese retro gaming fix I went in search of a real one (£££ ouch!) and then an emulator. After a lot of struggles, including the fact that the roms had got somewhat hard to find despite Sharp issuing them to the public some time in 2000. I have a working XM6G emulator - in Japanese. I know one word of Japanese (Hai) which is not very useful. It appears the dev removed all support for any lang other than Japanese some time in the past. I did find a sort of delta patch for a version of the XMG6 emul, but not mine and for the life of me I cannot understand the instructions. I guess there are English versions of this emulator out there... somewhere... right now I am staring at my tablet and Google translate. I hope that asking is not breaking any rules as I mentioned the X68000 roms are in the public domain, but can anyone suggest how I can get an English version of an X68000 emulator? |

I don't dabble in Sharp emulation, but from what I read, this fork of the emulator is in English:
https://mijet.eludevisibility.org/XM...20Pro-68k.html Maybe there are some differences, but it should help you to get acquainted with the emulator well enough to be able to use the Japanese version when needed. Hopefully, some EAB members will have more pieces of advice to give. |

This computer is in the same leaguae as Atari Falcon thought due software (games) library much more attractive than Falcon. Still from what I've read from many site computer does not have too many good exclusives but many arcade ports are very faithfull just like on FM-Towns. Question is if we need those ports when we have MAME.

I was thinking about price tag, not hardware actually. Personally I never had Falcon or X68000 but due software library (Falcon is not existent, I only know Ishar III falcon release) I'm far more interested with X68000.
But please don't tell me that A1200 is better than Falcon |
