This extremly Rare Game was never cracked and would needs a fix

This Game "Regent 2.0" is classified by HOL as extremly rare and was to my knowledge never cracked.
(The old 7Disk NDOS version was cracked but also doesn´t work)

Besides that, i can´t get it to run. (99%)

Even IF it runs, it crashes right at the Code protection.

What is going on here ?

I fail 99% of the time and it seems quiet random.

Tried pretty much every setup/config under the Sun. So odd.

I ran it this morning from disks using an A500 quickstart in WinUAE. I haven't tried the HD version you uploaded yet.

Have you seen the HDInstall document on disk 1? Maybe there is a clue how to get it running:

Ab der Version 2.0 lässt sich  -- R E G E N T -- auch auf die
Festplatte installieren.

Gehen Sie dazu wie folgt vor:


1. Machen Sie ein Verzeichnis auf der Platte. (Z.B. makedir dh0:REGENT)
   Kopieren Sie das REGENT-Symbol auf die Festplatte. Legen sie dazu die
   PROGRAMMDISKETTE in das Laufwerk df0: .
   (Z.B. copy df0:REGENT1.info to dh0:REGENT.INFO)

2. Kopieren Sie alle vier Disketten in das Verzeichnis
   (Z.B. copy df0: to dh0:regent all ->  Das mit allen Disks machen!)

3. Binden Sie die REGENT Pfade in das System ein. Dazu müssen Sie die
   BATCH-Datei im REGENT-Verzeichnis editieren.

   Um dies zu tun wechsen Sie in das REGENT-Verzeichnis. ("cd dh0:regent")
   Und geben Sie jezt "ED REGENT.HD" ein. Nun können Sie die eingestellten
   Pfade auf Ihr System abstimmen!

   Der Inhalt von REGENT.HD

   ( Assign REGENT_Disk_0: dh0:REGENT
     Assign REGENT_Disk_1: dh0:REGENT
     Assign REGENT_Disk_2: dh0:REGENT
     Assign REGENT_Disk_3: dh0:REGENT
     Assign fonts: dh0:REGENT/FONTS
     copy REGENT_Disk_0:rgb to ram: all quiet
     endcli )

   Wenn REGENT !NICHT! im Verzeichnis DH0:REGENT liegt, dann müssen Sie
   diese Eintragungen auf Ihre Pfade abändern!

4. Jedes Mal bevor Sie REGENT starten müssen Sie diese Datei mit
   "execute regent.HD" aktivieren. Erst danach können Sie REGENT von
   der Workbench aus starten!


   FONT-PROBLEME:

5. Wenn REGENT gestartet wir und die Schrift nicht in der richtigen
   Größe erscheint verwenden Sie vermutlich Kick 2.0 was hier leider
   zu unangenehmen Problemen führen kann. Sie müssen in diesem Falle
   eine START-Diskette machen. Kopieren Sie dafür die REGENT Programm-
   Diskette und Booten Sie von dieser. Bennen Sie die Diskette mit der
   Workbench-Funktion RENAME in !REGENT! um.
   Klicken Sie dann auf das CLI-Icon.
   Nun geben sie folgendes ein (EIGENE Pfade beachten!):
   "cd dh0:games"
   "execute REGENT.HD" (-> Pfade müssen falls nötig geändert werden!)
   Das CLI-Fenster verschwindet wieder.
   Jetzt Können Sie REGENT von Ihrer Festplatte starten! (ICON anklicken!)
   
   Die Startdiskette können Sie natülich von jetzt ab immer zum Hochfahren
   verwenden.

   Falls Sie Probleme mit der Installation haben sollten rufen Sie bitte
   unsere Hotline (!Nummer ist im Handbuch!) an.

   Und jetzt viel Vergnügen mit der schnellen Festplattenversion!

Sure; i have read this.

All the assigns are made and it still crashes.

It also crashes from floppy disk

I have no clue what´s wrong with this Game.

this game i have for many years in gamebase Amiga 1.6 (i have it from 2008) and it works. Game is cracked and it works perfectly.
1.1 version it seems the only one that is cracked.
1.09 and 2.0 recquire manual for codes

That's most likely the non 2.0 version of the game. You can check if it says 'Version 1.09' on the title screen.

Does it have 7 or 4 Disks ?

(i can´t even get the 1.09 version with the 7 NDos Disks to work)

Regent 1.1 is 7 disk and is cracked
Regent 2.0 is 4 disk and installed now on HD it works perfectly with Codes Protection.

Regent 2.0 Assign script Regent.HD is wrong in my case because:

You must copy on hd all disk in a directory called Regent. Copy Fonts and libs if necessary
then you edit Assign script:

c:assign regent_disk_0: dh0:regent
c:assign regent_disk_1: dh0:regent
c:assign regent_disk_2: dh0:regent
c:assign regent_disk_3: dh0:regent
copy dh0:regent/rgb to ram: all quiet
c:endcli

launch the game from Regent icon and after codes the game works.

i run this game from Workbench 1.3 with 1,5 MB of memory (1 MB chip RAM + 0,5 Slow RAM) and of course OCS chipset.

....it works ONLY with kickstart 1.3. Man, my Brain must be in deep sleep when i tested it

and that it gives an "Software Error" /Guru when you enter something
in the Code Protection seemed not right for me, but i guess thats how that works.

A Crack / WHDload version would still be very nice

software error because regent.hd is wrong if you install the game. This script it seems made if you install the game, but you keep disk_0 in df0:
I have changed a line in the script and now it works,

So it ONLY works with kickstart 1.3
and gives a Guru when something wrong is entered at the Copy Protection Screen

Really weird and that is what caught me off guard. That is not "normal" !!!

So, i could try out the game now (the old cracked 7 disk 1.09 version)

Holy cow, that game is very complex and the artwork is kinda



A crack for version 2.0 (4 Disks) would still be very great.

(and a WHDload version for people who dont have kick 1.3 in there amiga´s)

it works also on A1200, 3.0, AGA and Chip and Fast
also here i saw that intro it works perfecly, but game no. So i copy fonts from disk_0 and also icon.library and info.library.

It works!, but not good colors, so not good to play.

The solution is: not compatible with 3.x. It works also with 2.05, so Amiga 600 HD with ECS.
With A1200 also it works if you load 2.x.
i think that it works as far as 68030 with kickstart 2.x

There was a Reason for that Script that i made. (in the Zone)
You can´t just copy old versions of 1.3 Librarys to Workbench 3.0+.

Sure you can, but you screw things up, especially if they are essential ones like the Icon.library !

There will be a Solution for this Game to play it on 3.0+ Amigas/configs
and it´s called WHDload !

The Code protection is also screwed up. One Mistake and the Game crashes.

So a fix by JOTD will be very welcomed for people who wants to play this game.
