What is the board next to the bottom expansion slot on some rev6 a500s?
Sometimes I encounter photos of rev6 a500 motherboards with a small board next to the bottom expansion slot such as the one here:

It helps the 8371 Agnus refresh the 4 bit RAM chips. It is not fully compatible with the rev 6 motherboard otherwise.

Thanks, I understand, so the boards that shipped with 512Kb Agnus had to be patched this way, while those shipped with a 1Mb Agnus did not.

Yeah.. To pull a number out of a hat, 98% of all rev 6s shipped with an 8372 and only a small batch (in comparison) had the old agnus + the refresh bodge tower.
