My old WinUAE guide

I just found a mirror of my old WinUAE guide that I wrote nearly 20 years ago. It used to be hosted on my easyEmu site on Mameworld but got really out of date and I eventually deleted it.

Just looking at the Windows 2000 / XP screen shots of the old WinUAE GUI, it really takes me back. I'm pretty sure that it was one of the first guides available and I made it with Dreamweaver and uploaded it on a 56K modem, so everything needed to be very optimized.

Anyway here's the link if anyone is interested.

That guide does seem very familiar! I'm not sure whether this was the same one I used when I first started using WinUAE or if someone ripped off the guide. Like you, seeing that old screen brings back memories... in fact, the WinUAE-Kaillera version looked the same since it was based on XP version!

I remember seeing this, always wanted to contact creator to tell to use 512 kb chip and 512 kb slow ram for best compatibility for A500.

It was cool at the time. Should place it somewhere as historical site, like we still have this: http://lindqvist.synology.me/retired/uae/

One of the first ever sites I found looking for disk images after first stumbling upon WinUAE.

After that the Amiga bug came back in full force

Dang, that is a great piece of history. Definitely worth archiving. Thought of doing a new guide?

Kind of... Thing is, most modern of guides are on youtube and I'm kind of resistive to making videos. Maybe a new WinUAE guide could happen at some point in time, but I have far too many other projects to focus on at the moment. Also, would it be useful?

I do still keep my Mame guide up to date. You can see it here...

https://easyemu.mameworld.info/

If I made a new guide, it would go into that kind of detail.
