Battery Removal

Hello,

How do I remove a battery from Apollo 1240? It's starting to corrode.....

If you want one of the replacement batteries mentioned in the above thread, I'm currently selling one on eBay for £2.95. Just search eBay UK for the battery number.

To get the old battery off the board, you just need to heat the legs with a soldering iron (from underneath) whilst gently prising it off.

Steve.

Like any other device...

If you have a soldering iron and know which end of it gets hot, use that to carefully desolder the battery. (Look for tips before you start if you don't know what you're doing - and don't heat the battery too much, as they can explode)

If you want to just get rid of it, get a small pair of snips and cut it off at the legs.
