AmigaOS3.2 and tiny tiny mousepointer

I created a new Amigasetup in WinUAE 4.4.0, running Picasso-screenmodes. But I get a very tiny tiny mousepointer which is hard to see. It seem to have the same size no matter which resolution I pick (1920xXXX and lower).
I don't recall having these kind of issues before so I almost suspect something with AmigaOS3.2 but I am unsure..
Hints anyone?
Thanks alot in advance.

OS 3.2 Pointers on RTG Screens have a small appearance, you can increase the size or create new pointers from Prefs/Pointers, see screenshot !

Hi, I bought a notebook with a default very high resolution and suffered from the same issue when facing WinUAE and using Picasso96. The solution is to make sure you have the following tool type of the UAEgfx card driver which sits in Devs:Monitors enabled:

BIGSPRITE=YES

It is also worth exploring the mouse/pointer settings present under WinUAE's "Game ports" section (at the bottom).

With this the pointer graphics lose quality

When it is small, does it have same pixel mapping as used resolution? Or does it look like it is scaled even smaller? (looks slightly burry). Same pixel size as resolution is normal.

BIGSPRITE should simply make it exactly twice bigger without any quality loss.

SOFTSPRITE disables hardware sprite method and it is Picasso96 that decides the cursor size. Which probably defaults to big sprite if resolution is large enough. But can introduce cursor flickering because it isn't separate sprite anymore.

Yes Toni but only with the "System" Pointer, if you try to use "BIGSPRITE" with Preset Pointers they lose quality, see screenshot !

I can't see any quality loss. It is simply doubled horizontally and vertically which is expected result.

The BIGSPRITE seems to do the trick, thanks, never knew that. Feature-request though: EVENBIGGERSPRITE would be nice.

Toni you don't have to look at the GUI, but the pointer, look at small screenshot

You should use PNG for screenshots instead of JPG if you want best quality and small file size.

daxb you probably didn't follow the discussion from the beginning, the problem is not the screenshots in JPG, PNG , TIF etc..

The problem is that the pointers a "Prefs/Presets/Pointer" of OS 3.2 but also of other OS are not suitable on WinUAE for Screens RTG at high resolutions.

The parameter "BIGSPRITE" to be activated on the Tooltype Icon Monitor "distorts the image", the screenshot showed the pointer graphically corrupted (quality loss).

Having said that in my last Screenshot I only showed that if you draw a bigger pointer the Pointer is perfect.

N.B. the parameter "BIGSPRITE" works well only on the pointer "Hardware" that is the system pointer.

I want PIXEL PERFECT screenshot (png), preferably both captures in same image. Not blurry jpeg.

So far I don't see any quality loss and it would look exact same on real hardware too. Blocky because it is simple doubling.

I don't see any problem.

Regular pointer (11x11):
Big Sprite (22x22):

These are PNG's taken directly from WinUAE and cropped. Workbench 3.1 at 1600x900. I'm not seeing any quality loss.

Nooooo, that is the system pointer and on that there are no problems, try to use the Ponters "on file" that you find in SYS:Prefs/Pointer !!!

My English is probably not understandable I give up to discuss

I created a custom pointer and that worked too:

Regular pointer (15x14):
Big Sprite (30x28):

I think you're right. I'm probably not understanding the problem. Sorry, AMIGASYSTEM

I hope with this video of mine you can understand what I mean:

Test "Difference" between Integrated Pointer and pointer loaded to File when using "BIGSPRITE" in the Icon Tooltypes.
