I would buy that for a dollar, just kidding. I have 4 A1000 machines that need restoring and this would help that process happen sooner.

Did this project die? Would be great to open source the design and cpld, or sell mostly bare boards.

I'm sure a pcb order of 50 boards would actually sell. I'd be willing to buy 5.

AFAIK It’s been pretty quiet for the last 2 years.
Maybe our Spanish speaking EAB members have more recent info from some Spanish forums.

There's always the GBA-1000. With optional Picasso-II+ and 060 accelerator.

Amiga A1100 motherboard

Also, since the last update and now, a lot of ppl (including me) got the reverse engineered Rejuvenator solving some of the ”problems” the A1100 was adressing. So as long as you dont have a dead mobo, there are now more options than there were 2 years ago. (Also, the Parceiro was released)

Uhm...We have enough new created updated motherboard PCBs for the Amiga's, we have loads of new cool turbocards and such like...but we forget/missing the most important "things"...the chips....CIA's, Gary's, AGNUS, MOS etc.

I doubt there's a whole lot of people needing to build one of these that doesn't have the chips already. And if you need that stuff you just give some money to some other person who is sick of having the extra Amiga around. We are just the ouroborus anyway

I imagine replica PCBs are comparatively easier to design and manufacture compared to ICs.

I'm sure we'll have drop-in clones/replacements some day, but I don't think development will be easy, quick or cheap.

Ppl in Amigaland are a patient bunch, used to wait for years or even decades but I’d say that within 5 years we’ll have fancy AI powered tools that will *significantly* speed up the design process. Probably using clever generative AI to dramtically downsize the boring repetitive work.

Thumbs up

Since this was announced I've been slowly getting the parts to build my Rejuvenator for my Amiga 1000 thanks to Eric and and all involved at amigalove.com

C= Amiga chips are not being manufactured. Most Amiga-related FPGA solutions are single Amiga chipset solutions.

Hopefully the Amiga Replacement Project will bear fruit & we end with drop in replacements that are cheaper, at least than current prices. I was thinking of upgrading a spare A500 OCS to ECS recently but with current prices I'll probably end up leaving it (money better spent going towards a V4).

Currently you can still buy a complete working A500 for a reasonable price. I have an A500 motherboard with some fault on it but all the custom chips are good (tested in another A500). However some upgrade chips such as 2MB Agnus and ECS Denise are now ridiculously expensive and will only get more so.

I am very interested in this project for the opportunity make enhanced chips that could be fitted to any existing Amiga - not just Agnus but also eg. Paula with with true 16 bit output, Denise with chunky graphics etc. - the sort of things that Commodore could have done 'back in the day' without too much effort.

IOW, "After running for 27 hours the 'mov' instruction would change to 'halt and catch fire'. But hey, it only took 5 hours to design!"
