I think he did this test to see if it would work on ZDoom... ZDoom is the last version available for the classic Amiga Now where is @Novacoder to port this new GZDoom, maybe hard if it depends on GL hardware though..

I must admit that I don't usually "PC" game these days...

...but this looks pretty wicked / very slick indeed ArcturusDeluxe, so may need to give it a bash.

Well done, and thanks for posting this news on EAB!!!

Second level done !

Had to back-track to collect heath packs
but that was cool

#EDIT#
Works on LZDoom v3.84 (32 & 64 bit) but starting graphics are a bit lower.

LZDoom is based on an older version of GZDoom. It does not provide all features currently supported by GZDoom but in turn is capable of running the hardware renderer on older hardware which does not support modern OpenGL features.

Is it possible to make this run with a more pixelated resolution? Maybe something closer to the original resolution?

@ArcturusDeluxe

Man! That's a glorious remake, I'm so excited I can finally play this game in a proper resolution.
I totally understand you wouldn't do a TKG remake since you didn't care much for the original, but in case you do a reimagined sequel, there are a couple of things from TKG which are actually cool to include. The priest-enemies and the laser bouncing gun with its upgrade to 3-way. Most enemies were well-designed tbh, but mainly those two things.
And a crazy idea. Is there a way that Osiris project could be made compatible with vanilla doom engine? Then we could play it on a real amiga via Doom Attack

At best you can do a Doom total conversion WAD, but it'll still be Doom.

A total conversion would still be awesome to have playable on miggy. An amiga game, ported to pc, ported back to amiga via a ported pc engine.

Nice work here! It's certainly keeping me occupied a lot longer than the original version. Maybe it's worth revisiting.

I'm up to level 6 now. Wonderful job on this, it's great!

I think I've probably played more on this than I ever did on the Amiga version. Really good!

You can also have a look @ Gloomy Breed a conversation for the Gloom Engine (But only the first six levels).

This truly superb! I would have even loved to have watched a video on how you did all of this if there'd been one.

I'd love to be able to play it on my raspberry pi if that were possible but I'm actually currently struggling to get it to run on my old Intel i3 (M370) laptop as it seems to be lacking openGL drivers. Is there a way to launch the game with software rendering or is this openGL only?

Try LZDoom:
https://zdoom.org/downloads
"LZDoom is based on an older version of GZDoom. It does not provide all features currently supported by GZDoom but in turn is capable of running the hardware renderer on older hardware which does not support modern OpenGL features. "

Thanks very much, Nobby_UK. That has worked a treat and I think I actually prefer that rendering - I can almost convince myself it IS a super-enhanced version on a super-enhanced Amiga!

I’ve just seen (and installed) LZDoom on my Retropie setup so hopefully I can get this working on there too!
