Pentium 3 Laptop Price?
I have to post here to talk about Pentium 3 Laptop price to make sure that I dont get rip off....
How much are they are really worth from price range? £50 to £100 depending on CPU, Ram and the conditions of the laptop? Please let me know because it would be good to know as you know better than I do |

All I can tell that I wouldn't pay £1 for Pentium 3 laptop.
What's the point? Anything modern wouldn't run on this and you wouldn't consider P3 vintage would you. |

IF I remember correctly as my mate used have Pentium 3 733MHZ with 768MB Ram and I was playing game at the time as it was so fast back in 1999 I think |

Pentium III laptops are pretty old now; at least 10 years I think. I looked at the prices of completed auctions on eBay and you can get Core 2 Duo laptops for well under £100. One like that would be much faster than a Pentium III-based machine, and about half as old.

I got myself a PIII laptop some months ago. In decent cosmetic and working condition, just with a noisy, but working HDD, dead main battery and dead CMOS battery (which I have now replaced). Paid approx £15 for it, which is what I would say is reasonable. Can use it in case I need to firmware upgrade a PCMCIA NIC for example.

A Core 2 laptop would typically not have drivers for Windows 98, though you might be able to get it to work to some extent.
However rather than install Win 98 directly, it would be fast enough to run games in an emulator like Dosbox, or run Win 98 using a virtualisation package like VirtualBox or VMWare Player. And run it faster than a Pentium III laptop would natively. So you would be able to play pretty much any old DOS game on it. And a Core 2 machine would be more than usable for day-to-day/general computing too. |

I am not being funny but I have used VirtualBox or VMWare Player on ASUS G73J. I have run CM 2 game on them and I try to maxium CPU but run very slow on VirtualBox or VMWare Emulator as it could be the game itself that cause very slow
IF I remember correctly that when I was playing P-III 733MHZ and nearly 1GB Ram.....It ran so fast as season flew in just few hours Amazing game that was so simple compare FM 2013 now! |
