FS-UAE Arcade (MAC) - Joystick Unavailable at Start

Tested with version fs-uae-suite_2.8.2u1_macos_x86-64. My Joystick is available once I start the game, but only when I configure it from the menu under Input Options. So FS-UAE Arcade is not seeing the joystick when it starts up. Anyone else seeing this? Cheers.

Hi, this gamepad is not known to Launcher/Arcade (it does not know the layout of the buttons, etc). You need to configure it in Launcher settings. Double-click on the gamepad entry and map the available buttons as closely as possible to the illustration

I have added todo issues to improve make this more user friendly by telling the user when a non-configured gamepad is detected:

Thumbs up FS-UAE Arcade (MAC) - Joystick Unavailable at Start (SOLVED)

Thanks for the reply Frode. I took another look at my Arcade Log and noticed that the application was expecting the following file - std_2btn_usb_joy.conf. However when I checked my Controllers directory, I found that the Launcher App created a file called std_2btn_usb_joy_8_2_0_0_macosx.conf when I mapped my joystick. So to solve this, I duplicated this file under the name std_2btn_usb_joy.conf and FS-UAE Arcade now works as expected with my joystick.

Thanks! Looks like you found a bug there

Can you try renaming the file to
std_2btn_usb_joy_8_2_0_0_macos.conf
(macos, not macosx) and see if it also works then?

Yes, renamed my file to std_2btn_usb_joy_8_2_0_0_macos.conf and indeed that works with FS-UAE Arcade.

Hi - is there something else that can be done in v3.05? I am unable to get my Xbox One controller to work in the menu. Once I enter a game, I can hit F12, and change the keyboard to the "XInput Controller" and it works n the game, but as soon as I exit, the controller no longer works in the menu, and when I choose another game, I need to set it again.

On selecting a game, the XInput Controller shows as an option, but I am unable to select it - it is stick on "keyboard". Any tips or help appreciated.
