Look again to the Zone and seach for "accelorator_roms". These files aren't protected as youcan also find them in other places on the internet

@Frode

Don't forget to merge the new code from WinUAE in the next Beta! I'll be happy to see AmigaOS 4 in FS-UAE

@amigafreak68k it isn't as much a question of remembering, as it is an issue of when I have time to merge

I am confused....can someone please explain what this "PPC" is, and what benefits it brings to WinUAE/FS-UAE? I looked at that video and still don't get it. Does it make the games run faster or something?

PPC means PowerPC and is for long time a CPU from Motorola/IBM. Now this CPU is developed and saled by Freescale.

For the Amiga there existed so called PowerUp CPU-Boards, which had a PPC 604e (CyberstormPPC) or 603e(+) (BlizzardPPC) as Co-Processor. For these boards existed application layers named "WarpUp" and "PowerUP". Both allowed to execute Apps and Games directly in the PPC-Co-Processor on these boards.

As second step there were developed 2 alternate Operating systems for the Amiga. One is "MorphOS" and the other one is "AmigaOS 4". These OSs switched the 68k part of the PPC boards completely off.

What this mean for FS-/WinUAE? It's easy. It's possible for the first time to install and use AmigaOS 4 on an emulator!!

For more information about PPC boards please use Google and search for "phase5" and/or "DCE" and "PowerUP", "CyberstormPPC" and "BlizzardPPC"

Thank you AmigaFreak. Very fascinating info. What advantages does AmigaOS 4have over Workbench?

Hi Frode,

Here are the first screenshots of the booting and installation process of AmigaOS 4.0 Classic:

It is very, very, veeeeeeeryyyyyyyy sloooooooow because of lack of PicassoIV emulation (we could at no point specify the Picasso IV Flash image file)...

I've asked Toni as exists such an config option for WinUAE... WinUAE recognize the image automatically!

Just to be clear, PPC emulation (and AmigaOS 4) will do nothing good for your Amiga game collection

I haven't tested any of the emulated graphics boards. The emulation code itself is compiled in, however, it might still not work (or could even crash FS-UAE). It depends on how the code interacts with the video subsystem. It could work, and it might also require more (FS-UAE-specific) development.
