Blizzard PPC 603/060 board issue
Hi all,
I picked up a dead (black screen) PPC 603/060 board for my A1200 that I;m trying to get repaired. When looking at the board powered up, I noticed the fan wasn't spinning so had a look at the connector on the board and noticed a repair bodge - I wondered if anyone recognises it as such or is this a case of something killed the traces (over current) and someone else has had a go at repairing it? If some one with one of these boards can take a hires pic of the same area as in my attached pics from a good board, I would really appreciate it! Cheers, Mark. |

That looks .... errrr .... terrible
I got mine stored in a box somewhere, I found this on the net, maybe it helps already ... If I get around to it, I´ll search for the box and take a photo of mine at the weekend. |

I measured the voltage across the fan header last night and it appears worse than I thought. If I measure across the header, there's no voltage. If I measure from another ground point to either pin on the fan header, I get 4.7v on each pin.. That means that the ground on the fan header has almost +5v across it.. Must be something to do with the bodge repair. I don't suppose you have a schematic for the card at all or know where I might find one? Thanks, Mark. |

Didn't Chucky make one to prove the ground planes were missing from the "new Phase5' boards 5 years ago or something?
