The packs now include an iGame artpack which makes them a lot bigger, 20MB bigger! The artpack files are either installed or deleted during the activation procedure. The HDF's have been increased from 256 to 512MB also.

No, using WinUAE 1.2.0 was not an error. This version works best for the UAE beginners pack - it's faster and more compatible with the provided setup/configs and this pack is aimed at those who just want something that works with WHDLoad. I had problems with Tinymeter's CPU monitoring and slowdowns also on later versions and beginners may not be able to solve this:

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=49659

Experienced users can easy replace the executable and see, if any, problems that get introduced with later WinUAE versions.

In essence, the 1.2.0 pack is the "safe" option with the least issues under this setup, and if people notice slowdowns and pauses with later WinUAE versions I can ask them to use the 1.2.0 pack. This is the standard benchmark and the one I trust fully as it's been very well tested by myself for Workbench and WHDLoad use.

I'll just add that as I get more testing under my belt with WinUAE 2.0.1+, I will update this pack. But at the moment, I'm more comfortable using this older version.

Updated the UAE pack to use the latest WinUAE. Some people were having problems with the older version in Windows 7 64bit, so the new pack is the way to go.

Plus I've already had about 10 people asking me why the pack doesn't use the latest WinUAE and should they update it. Seems like common sense you can use whatever version you want, but I'm just including the latest to stop peeps asking.

I never understand this.. Everyone always blames 64-bitness, whatever the problem..

I have been using 64-bit Windows since Windows XP 64-bit and I had Vista 64-bit and Win 7 64-bit when first public beta was released.. There is no way the problem is 64-bit Windows.

Kyon - depends - try it and see.

It still has issues with Tinymeter's CPU monitoring, but that is disabled by default anyway.

Plus there is no reason not to make use of Toni's constant improvements to the brilliant WinUAE. If there are problems, then at least we are moving forward and not living in the past.

I'm with you Toni, but some have reported that when they replaced WinUAE 1.2.0 with 2.0.1 that their problems went away. Here is one example, but I've had some pm's as well:

I'm happy to use the latest pack anyway. Like I said, it's all about moving forward plus I get to help test your latest release.
