I seem to recall a recent special crack for the C64 version of Rocket Ranger where you don't have to enter any codes at all.

Finally had the time to complete this one
I needed to reload the savestate a single time, before my personal stuck point, the 'alien women' shoot-fight on the Moon;
well, the game was almost completed, because after that there is just the final alien fight, i can say very similar to the first person ant sequence later seen in It came from the desert, among other things.

Another yes a bit short but great one, completed thanks to winuae

Well done, worth completing IMHO.

I need to do this again; and take a new nice screenshot for my collection of the Mayan temple battle

Phew, that took a while... finally got the screenshot that I wanted
Also took some other good ones:

Have put a pack in The Zone! for HOL inclusion.

One thing that's still very frustrating is those damn takeoffs; I really don't know how I managed it back in the day... sometimes it took me 10 attempts; thank God for Save States.

Unfortunately after getting my 4th Rocket part; the Nazi's then invaded the White House so I didn't finish the game

Therefore I think the codes I got from "back in the day" are incorrect

the takeoff seems easier if you have less than 60 (more or less) fuel units on the tank; my method is to mental count from 1 to 8 (and again and again) like in a music rhythm, pressing the button at each number; it works 8/9 times out of 10 for me

My usual play proceed just waiting (apart the Atlantic rescue) until the SouthAmerica or Africa bases are discovered, then i fill the tank just with the amount to reach the base; after the raid, i continue to explore the closer countries instead of return to USA; with a bit of luck you'll find also at least 3 out of 5 rocket parts; the rest is agents task

I still have the savestate on the moon, but i used the Bobic adf to play;
i can take some screenshots, if can be useful
or share the save directly...

They are useful for all the .adf's cracked versions (Bobius included)

Definitely noticed takeoff is easier the smaller amounts of lunarium you have.

I sort of tried that first i.e. discover most things, but must have spent too much time in the War Room as when I got out I was arrested for neglecting agents or something

Yeah, if you don't mind upping the Save States you have somewhere; easy to switch to the "Bobic" .ADFs

I'm using the .IPFs.

yeah, it happened rarely, i think when you reach to takeoff very fast, at the first attempt, not sure... maybe it's just randomly

Here the moon state, got it with A1200 standard configuration, 2 floppy drives;
Disk1 (cr Bobius) in df0: , Disk2 [a2] in df1: ,both .adf

let me know if works on your side

Thanks, all good

Have taken additional screenshots and added to the file "Rocket Ranger_SShots.rar" in The Zone! for HOL inclusion.

You don't have other previous Save States do you? Would be good to grab when you are flying onto the Moon Base etc...

I really like this game, I've got the original, but would love a version with a Trainer on adf or whdload version.

Yeah, it's a very cool game like most Cinemaware titles

...it's just that damn takeoff

Not sure a trainer would work; what would you train?

Made a quick test with this set :
Rocket Ranger (1988)(Cinemaware)(Disk 1 of 2)[h QTX][t OCL].zip
Rocket Ranger (1988)(Cinemaware)(Disk 2 of 2)[h QTX][t OCL][codes on disk].zip

infinite lunarium trainer, and also if you fill the rocket tank at start, strangely you don't need to find the 5 rocket parts, you can go directly to the moon
game destroyed

This randomly find could be useful for both

Infinite Lunarium would do, you could also have Infinite Hits from planes etc, pretty sure I used to change the amount of Lunarium and hits I could take back in the day with the action replay cart.

Helped see a lot more of the game when I was younger.

@kremiso; it seems you love Cinemaware games as much as I do

You really need to check out the awesome Atari ST port of Sinbad and the Throne of the Falcon that meynaf did

It's sooooo much better than the native Amiga version rubbish

I took all the screenshots for HOL when I tested / completed the game.

i miss that great software house, apart some early games, the later ones were all very good.
Thanks for the advice, i haven't played this yet; i remember the ugly Amiga images at the time

atm i'm trying to do something in Lords of the rising sun Sharp68000, but also this seems not easy to proceed into like Rocket Ranger FMTowns... maybe little better
interesting music and graphics, however, different from the (great) Amiga counterpart

Reading this thread has just inspired me to dig out my old copied version from back in the day. Having loaded it up there is no cracktro at all so I have no idea which version it is. I do remember back in the day having a sheet of paper with all the fuel codes on which I had to use to get anywhere. I tested the game with 31 units of lunarium from the start and it went to the atlantic where the airship was. I have made ADF files of the 2 disks and the CRC are different to all the others in TOSEC so I guess I should share it here.

Thank you @Superman, curious version indeed, seems a successful adf copy of the latest originals, not sure...
and yes, it does use the updates lunarium codes too

EDIT possibly the same DamienD set?
