resload_LoadFileDecrunch called with illegal file specification

I got this error loading Dogfight (Microprose) with whdload 16.9.
But it starts without any problems with whdload 16.8.
Slave-version is 1.01.
Same setup is used, just different whdload versions.
Any ideas?

No-one?
I realise this can easily be resolved by dropping a copy of osemu.400 into the installed game's data directory, but it is supposed to work from c: as well isn't it?

You best bet would be to post this on the Mantis bugtracker for WHDLoad aswell : http://mantis.whdload.de/main_page.php

this has been changed in whdload v16.9, the install needs to be updated (fast fix would be to load osemu from the installation directory) to become compatible.
until then you may use 16.8

Whoops it was in the changelog all along

Code:

- chg:   its no longer possible to load files from outside the data
	 directory, that means that file specs containg a ':' or '//'
	 or starting/ending with a '/' are prohibited, these files were
	 anyway never PreLoad-able
