One big stonkingly huge collection of octamed samples?

Does such a thing exist? Back in the day I used to have tons of sample disks for octamed.

I was wondering over the years did kind soul ever take a ton of samples and put them all in one convenient place just waiting to be downloaded and recycled into modern day tunes?

Well I don't know, I have load's of disks full of samples I have been given over the years. I don't know if samples are allowed on the file server if not already on there. I don't mind doing some adf's if someone says they are or can go on the file server. If we all do it Nice collection

Hey Jimbo, thats the spirit!!

Not sure why we wouldn't be allowed to do this if it doesn't already exist. Most of the samples disks I had back in the day were either PD or Amiga mag floppy disk give aways.

It's the samples that used to come with Protracker. USually in RAW format, some times in IFF.
They should work OK with Octamed.

I started out on Protracker way back in the very early 90s. Happy days.

I moved over to Octamed because it has MIDI function so I can sync it with external MIDI gear.
So I can't go back to Protracker. If they will work with Octamed id be only too glad of them mate

CU Amiga Super CD-ROM 8 came with OSS and a pile of samples 8 and 16bit.
I think you can download it off the EAB ftp server.

The ST-XX sample disks are on aminet but are very old.

The best samples will be found in mods by other artists!

Hi Mihcael,

Yeah rips from old or even new games an mods would be great. Does a huge stockpile of these exist for download anywhere?

Id still be interested in the SX-XX. Can't hurt

Thanks mate.

How do you go about ripping sounds from mods? Id love to start with Turrican

Of course Id fully credit any samples used. Keeps these classics alive as opposed vanishing into obscurity.

To get sample os of mods load the mod in your tracker program.

To get mods out of games, you need to use a mod ripper (search aminet) but many game have custom formats that are harder to rip and/or play.
