Earth 2140 under WinUAE prob

I'm trying to run Earth 2140 on WinUAE.
when I try to run it I get an error message after the video initialization that says:

Entering graphics mode.
Error: the available 640x480x16 screenmodes are not in bigendian RGB16 pixelformat

ERROR! Unable to open an usable 640x480x64k CyberGraphX screenmode
CyberGraphX

I have P96 installed and the game supports it.
What am I doing wrong? Am I missing some files?

Game asks for 640x480x16 screen mode in 16-bit RGB-format but under Windows you only have BGR (little-endian) screenmodes. Emulated Picasso96 don't do any format conversions (it would be slow..)

So what can I do? Is there ANYTHING I can do, or is this game lost for me?

This may help, from patch notes:

Quote:
Update 12.01.01
===============
Support for graphics cards not supporting big endian modes added. Direct support for the little endian RGB16PC mode, and (much slower) support for all other modes through Picasso 96. Just run the installer to patch the executables.
Patch uploaded to zone.

Sorry for exhuming this old thread, but I just purchased Earth 2140 + mission disc and would like to get it to run under WinUAE, so please, where could I get that gfx card patch?

The Pagan Games download page doesn't seem to have a link to that update.

Thank You.

Just tried it with UAE and got the game to work! It's not state of the art performance-wise, but I guess its an emulator issue.

Thank you Toni AND DamienD!

Technically it's a game issue. I had the sources to this port a while ago (because Zuxxez wanted a modern Windows port!) and I must say, the port wasn't very well done. My "Windows" port is actually an SDL port, but it loses the multiplayer feature.
