Distribution of old amiga games in a monthly collection

I run a blog, which I aim to help new people to emulation/amiga scene obtain and play amiga games

Currently I am sticking to Freeware/Shareware games which of course should be perfectly legal to distribute (since they were distributed exactly in that way, back in the day)

I have seen some nice games released under "F1 Licenceware" which are really good, and I would like to know if they too, can be distributed now, since according to various sources, the company has shut down, and many are now listed as PD (amigapd website) so does this mean I would be able to include them in my growing collection?

edit: amigaboing.net is my blog for anyone whos interested

Would love to see the blog. So this is a very grey area. Depending on how risk adverse you are, you could list them. If you are not able to get results after an active attempt to contact possible rights holders, putting them up could be seen as reasonable. Maybe you need to then have a way for the rights holders to contact you if they do pop up and want them taken down. Definitely have a little notice alongside the games which says word to the effect.

It is not being sold anymore so you should be fine, maybe write a disclaimer and remove if someone complain (doubt it)

I'd be careful recommending that this will be fine. While it might be like this, copyright (in the EU) lasts for 70 years after the death of the last important creator (for combined works; would assume this applies to programmer, musician, gfx artist).

You are probably right and nothing will happen. But it could. Also, there is no DMCA in the EU or the UK (afaik).

To be honest, I think if you exclusively focused on Public domain, Freeware, Shareware and Open Source titles only, you would be doing something unique. There are a lot of websites already focusing on the commercial games. Maybe even look at non-games.

If you can find those games coded in AmigaE would be nice, 5k Invaders and 5k Pacman.

Thanks

Non-Games? Do you mean like Utilities like SID2/CliMate and Demos and so on as well?

I have found 5K Invaders and 6K Pacman - I guess these are the ones you were after, I shall review them in due course and include both in the HDF and RP9 files for Amiga Forever
