Narmi EAB Project Update

Hello all
Just a quick Announcement
Zetro & I have have come to an arrangement regarding the development of the Narmi project for EAB.
From Today I have agreed to a hand over of the project in Lieu of Zetr0's UNI commitments and lack of free time, I'm sure you wouldn't want our Bearded Crusader to spend less time on EAB!!
I hope to receieve the Handover pack in the next couple of weeks & will be then able to assess where everything stands.
I hope you are all happy with the arrangement & I will do my best to complete the project as originally envisaged.

Will Post Updates as they occour.

TC

@TC

Thank you my friend, I cannot think of anyone else to take on this project,

As some of you know, I am back at University, alas this has totally crippled my time this year for near enough ALL of my little side project. However, you all deserve to see and have a completed product, thats where our good friend TC has come in, rather gallently actually, to take up the calling.

I would like to thank every one here that has support me with encouragement and help, you guys are awesome!!!!

I know that you will support our TC in the same endevor

I will chip in and help out as much as I can, but please dont badger TC to hard, he has some catching up to do

Hooooo Very interesting project indeed!

Hi all,

I have been reading this thread with some interest :-) I notice that this project has been floating around for a while, yet there doesn't seem to be a working model for sale? I liked Zetr0's PAL/NTSC version with a switch, but I would have liked it to have the 23 PIN connector to plug it straight into the Amiga's video port :-( A chopped 25 pin connector would do the job, as the PCB mountable 23 pin D-Subs don't seem to exist :-( An angle grinder would do it fairly neatly I would think, with a thin disc. Hmmmm...I only wish that I was around before, I would have loved to take over this project. If that model of Zetr0's with the PAL/NTSC switch works, I could have had them made and ready for sale in 1-2 months methinks.

*EDIT* On second thought, the design is good as it is. That way it can be used on other applications besides the Amiga. Plus the female 23 pin d-subs still exist. With a suitable cable (either IDC or a round shielded data cable), it could easily be plugged into the Amiga's video port, or something else non-Amiga.

What is happening with it? Was Zetr0's last design tested?

Nathan

Thumbs up

Do it, Nathan.

As I mention before (an e-mail) I will be first person on the list to buy it, even PCB only (external or internal version).

@Nathan,

my friend, i can send your all the schematics I have if that helps, I will incude one here as well to make sense of the ntsc/pal swtichin circuit

I had only a few momnets to test my initial unit, with this I have concluded that the lack of power is at fault. although TC is also testing this theory out as well may other areas too.

I really have next to no time on any project at the moment :* I do hope i get a couple of weeks of sanity of christmass break we shall see..

heres the switching circuit.

hope that helps.

I bought this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=310111127271 but that adaptor has 2 input connectors - 5 and 6 pins. According to the manual 6-pin connector has R,G,B,GND,H,V and 5-pin connector has R,G,B,GND,S. Which one I should to connect and where on Amiga 500 rev.5?

@Zetro,

You may not require the 15pF capacitor for the PAL subcarrier oscillator circuit.
The device contributes 7pF + PCB trace should be enough, page 12 of the AD724 datasheet also states this.

Don't know if this is elsewhere in the schematic but you need 75 ohm resistors from signal to ground on the RGB inputs and AC couple the video signals into the device.

If you have full schematics, I will happily review them for you.

Ok I have used this one on Amiga, you use the 5 pin, do you have a amiga 23pin vdeo lead and what is it go to, din or db9?

I use exactly the same one. Just use the 5 pin connection.

Indeed, I missed this, well this save a component .... ah yes.... page 12... i think I got page 9...10...11....zzzzZZZzz

honestly I completely missed it, thanks for the catch! (and review)

I do have full schematics and PCB layouts here and on the net so I shall post them for your purusal with a HUGE thanks from me .

the above schema was to denote the choice of colour signal carrier, the full schema included the 75ohm pull on the RGB and 220UF cleaning on the Luma / Chroma and Comp.

after din dins I shall PM you some links and stuff.

I really apprciate your eyes on this.

OK, but where I need to solder those wires on A500 rev.5 PCB? I saw that Youtube A1000 SVideo hack but A500 has different PCB
