Adding a 50hz refresh rate for your LCD Monitor in Windows
If there are people that are not aware that their monitor might be able to sync down to 50hz...
I wanted to share this little utility which helped me create a new monitor driver and add a secondary native resolution that's 50hz to use with WinUAE. http://www.monitortests.com/forum/Th...ity-CRU?page=1 |

also you use powerstrip to create a 50hz monitor, but for CRT monitors 50hz is not a good option, it flickers a lot
for good CRT monitor the best is a 100mhz monitor, yet better a 150mhz monitor ( if supported) |

I used that program because Powerstrip was not working for my 7970 and Samsung 206BW.

I tried it and indeed i created a 50hz mode on my laptop (Radeon 7660G). Native resolution 1366x768 at 50hz, tested and working perfect, no more jerky scrolling

If it has an HDMI-port it must support 1080p50 through it.
But very handy for my other screen which only has Display Port and DVI - thanks! |

I enabled 50hz on my laptop panel, no external screens involved.

Ah okay. My laptop can set its display to either 60 or 48Hz. Then it should be capable of 50Hz as well.

You MUST be a 60Hz NTSC monitor user. Us Brits and Europeans had to make do with our extremely flickery 50Hz CRT monitors back in the day, but unlike you, we got used to them. |

Well, 50Hz in PC high resolution is unbearable on a CRT. 100Hz was the way to go a few years back in emulation. In lores (Amiga stuff, consoles, DVD/VHS etc) 50Hz was ok. Still using a CRT today for my Amiga and i'm not blind yet.
