3D printed A1200 LED assembly

As the repo says, you can buy these so cheaply it almost isn't worth doing but I wanted to see how well clear filament works as a light pipe.

Looks nice. Excellent idea! Could also be adapted to other use cases...

that's neat! well done!

From the github image it looks like you used rectilinear infill - have you tried other types? Like maybe just vertical lines?

I have given it some thought. In the end, when the default print at 100% infill worked so well, I thought that maybe the fact that the direction of print was varying (as each layer was layered on top of the one before) was a good thing. So if the LED is central then a layer at 45 degrees helps to move the light more to one side of the bar, then when it prints at 45 degrees in the other direction it spreads the light that way too, maybe if the lines were all straight the light would remain in the centre of the bar? I don’t know, will have to try that.

Nice project - I like this
My A3000 arrived with the LEDs board smashed, and I have picked up one of those replacements that has two LEDs side by side instead of a long one, maybe something similar to what you have done is worth giving a shot, were you happy with the filament and is it available in Australia or you need to order it from overseas?
