Best racing game for Amiga with Trackball

I was thinking this might be a good idea and it was

Playing this game with mouse is ok but this is much better.
The open source 68000/14MHz accelerator is also perfect for this game.
No gfx glitches as there are both with my Blizzard IV and original A4000/030.

In the video I show you my A500 with Mathezar 68000 14MHz accelerator with 1MB RAM. The best CRT monitor ever from Commodore called 1081. Enjoy!

So, Vroom supports mouse as a control?

I have this steering wheel that you can attach the mouse to it, it might be great for this game. the only problem is that gas and brake are the mouse buttons, and not very convenient.

Hard Driving supports the mouse also.

Yes, it is first of all meant to be used with a mouse. Cool wheel! might be fun with that one You could wire the mouse buttons to the wheel

The wheel is free spinning, so that could be a problem.
I did have an idea now, I could use some old PS1 steering pedals and wire them to some switches and use a passthrough cable between the mouse port and a mouse.
could be a nice weekend project, if I had the parts.

Maybe there is more driving games for Amiga that uses mouse.

Well, as Nigel Mansell's World Championship was released with analogue wheel controller support, I presume it also can handle mouse is handling of the device is similar, but that's just an idea, need to be checked. Furthermore, The early releases of that game had problems with wheel support, so it can depend on which version is tried.
Other game which had mouse control as per default is No second prize, not a car racing but a motor driving game. Can't recall any other.

Man that VROOM looks insane? Why haven't i heard of this game before?

Just judging by the graphics, its looks like one of the best 16bit racing games on any system. Looks so fast, fun fluid. Only mode7 games can compete.

What kind of graphics are those? Its like a mix between 3d and 2d graphics.

Fucking 5 cars on screen at once,
great draw distance, both for road and cars, its like its using polygon models afar and sprite up close.
the camera tilts when you crashes

Oh and i love the way they did with the car rendering. Not taking up the whole screen, whith the tires turning.

Indy 500 is a mouse game - seem to remember buying a Gravis Mouse Stick back in the day for it and flight sims that didnt support analogue.

Agree 100%
The work that went into this game is stunning!
Everything just feels right.

It is a mix of 2D and 3D.

it looks like it was ported to mega drive. called f1:

Looks like you can crash off road!

vroom/f1 upholds the illusion that you are actually racing on a real connected track and not just into the screen like so many other games.

What's most impressive even is that it's an AtariST original.
