OK Ive tried doing this myself but Im getting nowhere. I want to convert some Mods and Med files into WAVs. The new Deliplayer will convert to WAV but only in MONO. What can I use to get stereo WAVs as good as the originals from these?
Thanks |

OctaMED Sound Studio will output MOD and MED files as 16-bit stereo WAV files, but you'll have to fiddle with the mod a bit first (transpose notes, alter timing, etc).
Alternatively, why not play the MOD back in DeliPlayer, and sample your sound card's output? |

On a windows machine, you can use WinAMP to play mod/sid files. It comes with a built in plugin to write the output to disk rather than playing the audio. Default format is .wav
Or, if you really wanna get some work yourself, swith the recording device (audio settings) of your windows from mic/line-in/whatever to "WAV", play the mod with any player you like and record it simultaneously with any recording software... this has the advantage that you can work on the wav file right after recording it, i.e. normalizing it, alter the pan/spectrum, put FX on it etc., but it has the big disadvantage that you do the WAV-ing in realtime. For example, recording a 10 minute module to WAV takes about 12 seconds using WinAMPs disc writer plugin, but 10 minutes using the direct recording. |

If you use winamp, install in_bass.dll 1.8.0 from http://www.copro.org/malte/
Or use XMPlay http://www.un4seen.com/ (which also supports winamp plugins) |

Only Deliplayer will play MEDs the RIGHt way, so you better go register the bugger and output perfect wave files.

doesnt the freeware program Skaletracker allow you to load ami mods then save the result as a stereo output wave file ? there again I,ve only tryed conversion of a few famous ones and you may have an older med format than I was converting , just a thought !

Just used WinAmp to convert: Lotus 2.mod (84.0 KB = 86,016 bytes) to to LOTUS 2.wav (28.4 MB = 29,802,496 bytes) |

For converting to waves I use DeliTracker2 on Amiga, with the 14-bit Noteplayer (the one from Chris Hodges). This way not only MOD/MED can be converted correctly, but also TFMX, Vectordean, etc.

Why not just play them in vlcplayer on Windoze? It plays anything and plays them faithfully too!

For Windows there is also a great player AMP, you can convert from more appropriate GUI mod file at a time, It can not, however, convert the file MED perhaps lacking some Plugins?
