Furia + PCMCIA
I've tried to do as much reading as I could before posting this. But I'd really appreciate the input from anyone whose clocked more hours with one of these accelerators.
Is it possible to use a PCMCIA card and still retain the 9.5mb fast ram? |

In short no, you must use the option where you hold keys down and reboot to 4mb for the PCMCIA to work

Yes, it is !!!
I uploaded the needed files into the Zone. Copy those files to your Workbench. Then double click the Script in the "System" folder. BÄM ... The Amiga will reset itself and you have the full RAM. (well, a tiny bit needs the PCMCIA) But there you go https://eab.abime.net/zone/Furia-Full-RAM-PCMCIA.lha Greetings, Torti |

"Sould" work with all Furia´s , but i only tested it with a Whiteboard Furia from Years ago.
Never updated it´s Firmware and it always worked like a Charm. Please try and report; that might help other Furia users ... greetings & good luck PS: I just wanted to add, that this also activates the PCMCIA !! ; so there is no need to use that Keyboard combination anymore Last edited by Torti-the-Smurf; 02 May 2024 at 15:05. Hi Torsti, I just tested it on my `White` Furia which has the latest firmware 14.5 on it and it works but you must leave the PCMCIA card out then run the Card script in System it will then reboot, only then put your PCMCIA card in and it will work.
If you leave the PCMCIA card in then run the Card script it will just crash/loop black screen Thanks for the files |

Hmmm, never had that problem.
Do you have more Adapters at Home? That can/could help, because they can be quiet different. I had 3 back then and one of them only worked when plugged in afterwards (no crash tho) The one from Trancent was Flawless .. that was PCMCI > Compact Flash. and another no name brand was PCMCIA > micro SD - that worked also flawless. The last one had a similar issue like you described, but with no crash. (cant remember the brand; it has been such a long time) The point is... if you dont mind; try more Adpaters. Those are quiet cheap and some work better than others. Also; please don´t go over the 4 GB limit. That leads to problems. (files can not be seen anymore or become faulty and so on ...) I only used the PCMCIA for transfering files from my Windose PC to the Amiga, and it was perfect for that Hope it all works out for you. Greetz & good luck Supadupa PS: I also uploaded the Compact Flash Device and Fat 95 ;just in case... put those on your WB and see if this change things. https://eab.abime.net/zone/Furia-CompactFlashDevice.lha Last edited by Torti-the-Smurf; 02 May 2024 at 17:50. Thanks Torti, I aleady have the compact flash dev and the fat95 installed, I do not have any other adapters to try but I am more than happy to just leave the PCMCIA adapter out of the A600 while I run the script and then put it into the PCMCIA slot after
thanks again buddy Last edited by supaduper; 03 May 2024 at 18:10. |

Hi,
This sounds interesting! I finally got my Furia working stable by building an Amiga 600 Junior(!). Having the PCMCIA available all the time would be very useful. The link to Furia-CompactFlashDevice.lha above is broken. I don't suppose you could post it again, please? Thanks, Pete |

Great stuff. Thanks for that. I've grabbed the files. I'll have a play with that tomorrow.
