KryoFlux - now supporting Windows, Mac OS X and Linux

As of today, KryoFlux' host software DTC is available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. The release package includes the graphical user interface which also works on all three platforms now.

If you already have a board, get the latest software here: http://www.kryoflux.com

Thats a really cool bit of hardware that.
I dont think I would have a lot of use for it myself but I can tell it will be golden for someone preserving disks!

sounds interesting but we already have the Catweasel MK4+ that does everything Kyroflux does and it works great on AmigaOS4.1 too with support for stereo REAL SID chips on board. I personally would much rather support companies/developers that support current Amiga projects (i.e Jens/ Ian).

for anyone interested in Ian's OS4.1 support page here it is linky...a cool little extra is the ability to run original copyright disks under OS4.1

I understand that SID chips are a genuine requirement and choice is always a bad thing to have.

In regard to availability of the host software for OS 4.1... Let us look into this.

I'd like to come up with some news about the project... The British Library, one of the largest archives, had to make a choice last year. They already had a competitive product and also invited another maker of a dumping solution and us to do a demo.

I find it strange that they are considering something as complex as Kryoflux. It's not like the library are going to be doing copy protected disks? I guess it is the one tool, all formats aspect?

Also they are probably reading disks that have become degraded.

Well although we have a strong interest in preserving games, the hardware just reads what's on the platter. Since many institutes are not limited to one platform, they were looking for something versatile to carry around that can be used in many places and deal with a broad range of drives and formats.

I don't know why they did not chose other competitive products. We're just glad they did pick our solution. Maybe they liked our approach, our business style, our expertise and our way of dealing with things.

BTW our Preservation Analyser has been sold to some institutes, too. This means that these institutes are going for preservation in IPF files. We have been handing out sources for the format in form of the IPF library as well, just for those concerned that it might eventually die with our project. We're currently looking for a way of releasing it to the broad public, too (see another thread). It turns out to be more complicated than we thought (especially finding something that might please the GPL fans), but as you can see we're making steps into the right direction. As of today, we're no more the only organisation that can make IPFs...

I have decided it's time to get myself a KryoFlux.

I see from the KryoFlux Web Store that the PSU is not currently available. Does that mean that the KryoFlux Personal Edition Premium, which includes a PSU, is not currently available either?

Edit1: It's okay, it looks like all available PSUs are bundled with KryoFlux boards. The quantity available for KryoFlux Personal Edition Premium is listed as 4.

Edit2: KryoFlux ordered!

Edit3: The quantity available for KryoFlux Personal Edition Premium has decremented to 3.
