Thank you for that Toni, but after giving it a spin it is not usable yet - switching Bilinear 0/1 for interlace instantly crashes WinUAE.
Moving other interlace sliders like scanlines opacity when the screen is interlaced caused a jit crash.
I'll try to provide more details this evening.

Also, scanlines pattern settings, and RTG integer scaling are still broken.

winuae.7z should fix this, please confirm? (I didn't remember those options were "special")

Yes! It doesn't seem to crash anymore and everything switches nice including shaders.

Only scanlines patterns seem left to fix (isn't the problem that they're smooth-scaled?), and RTG integer scaling.

CDTV don't boot CD

Hi.
My recent tests showed that starting with the first beta version 4.9.2 / 4.9.9, bootable CDs do not boot in a CDTV configuration ("quickstart"). I tested "CDTV Welcome Disk" and "Demo II Collection". Booting works on 4.9.1. I tested the x86/x64 versions and x86 latest beta - they all behave the same.

Best regards!

Yes, all good now..No crash..

Edit: Re CDTV, not working right here either, CD light pops on for a sec and then just sits on the CDTV screen with zero cd activity..

This is savestate ( with IPF 1354 ).

After pressing "fire" the title screen disappears then a flickering appears at the bottom just before the start of the game.

All versions (IPF, "unofficials" and WHDLoad) are affected. Version 4.9.1 is ok. Since b1.

Quickstart A1200.

Does this also happen on the real A1200?!

EDIT: BTW. on posted "Robocod.uss" file the Cycle-exact (Full) is disabled! (and the glitch looks different when is enabled)

On stock a1200 there aren't any glitches (tried James Pond 2 - Codename Robocod (1993)(Millennium)(AGA)[cr PDX]) which does show glitches in latest beta. Just tried a few times, so of course I can't say conclusively that they never show up on a real 1200.

Hmm Toni I have upgraded to 4.9.9 beta 5 to benefit from enhanced smc mode, but the smc command seems not to work at all now. It returns instantly (used to take a few seconds to initialize) and doesn't print anything like before (self-modifying code whatever break = on/off)

Code:
>w 0 $80000 $70000 none
 0: 00080000 - 000EFFFF (458752) RWI NONE
>smc
>smc
>smc 0

Works for me. Are you really sure you use same config that also works in older version. (like having z3 ram or even too much z3 ram)
EDIT: nothing happens if smc state tables can't be allocated (=really lots of RAM enabled) and this has not changed in this beta.

I must be using the 32 bit beta version, I was using the 64 bit version before.

I've switched to a smaller configuration memory wise and it's even weirder

typing "smc" after a shift+F12 rrestarts the emulator at a weird PC and crashes. After that I can't use shift+F12 or end+F12 to enter the debugger. I have to F12 and "reset" now I get the debugger prompt again.

then if I type smc, I get "SMCD disabled" and I type it again WinUAE exits... Maybe there's too much memory involved, but is there a 64 bit latest beta version to test? I always struggle with beta links?

Body Blows Galactic AGA ( IPF 0440 and WHDLoad version ).

Graphical corruptions before and during intro and in start menu ( pic 1, pic 2, pic 3 ). It works fine with the version 4.9.1.

Quickstart A1200.

SMC can use huge amounts of host side RAM (~8 bytes per Amiga side byte!)

Usually it is good idea to only use RAM inside first 16M to keep memory usage low. SMC really isn't meant to be used with "large" configurations.

Manage to crash the WinUAE 4.9.9 b5 by playing with RESTART and RESET buttons several times! (check attachment)

Restart can cause it because it frees everything and initializes everything again, especially if config changes a lot. Unfortunately the dump only shows that some KS ROM memory was not allocated or was too small. It does not explain why it happened.

btw, CDTV boot hang is fixed.

This time played only with the RESET button!

Also not sure why the FPS adj. in Display tab (unticked) is not stable but changes! (sometimes after RESET or RESTART)
I noticed that in "MAYHEM-Expiration.dms" the rotation cube not glitches if there is value 49.920406 during the running of demo!

Understood.

Note: this seems to be a problem with the AGA chipset ( Robocod AGA and Body Blows Galactic AGA versions) because if I run an " exotic " Quickstart A500+AGA chipset configuration the same problems appear with the OCS versions of these two games.

I found another problem. I report here because it may be related to one of the other two concerns already noted (Body Blows Galactic AGA). There are incorrect colors.

FD-Methylate:

During the ship scene, some colors are not good. This is correct with WinUae 4.9.1 ( pic 1 and 2 ) and real hardware but not with the latest beta ( pic 3 and 4 ).

To reproduce :

Just wait ship scene after logo.

Note : The two scenes of the demo with the ship have the same problem.

Edit 16/11 : I added the full demo.

I've figured out a few things about the messed up colors in AGA mode, but I don't know how the WinUAE color optimizer works. If I post this info now, Toni will probably figure it out faster than I will. 8)

The issue appears to be with "thisline_decision.ehb_seen", or whatever else controls whether the current scanline line is using EHB mode or not. If the color optimizer does not detect if EHB mode is used anywhere on a given line, it will use the AGA 32-63 color registers instead of the ECS EHB registers. At least, that's what I understand.

That Methylate demo is ECS and uses EHB for only a few scenes, such as the ship scene. During the ship scene, if you run the demo in NTSC mode it works fine, but in PAL mode some of the scanlines enable EHB mode and some lines don't. Perhaps it has to do with the different scanline count or scanline starting offset between NTSC and PAL?
