CD32 memory expansion
Is the SX32 the only way to expand the memory of a CD32?
I find it an excellent games machine but if it has 8MB of Fast (I don't even care about an accelerator, I don't need it), it would be ideal for WHDLoad. In all these years, nobody has been able or interested in hacking some more memory into this machine? |

All are old, hardly available, expensive and space consuming. I was wondering if anyone havked memory inside.

The Sx-32 Pro - or at least the revision I have - actually fits inside the CD32 with just a little bit of port expansion sitting on the outside. It's quite nice, but I have to agree on the other points - hard to find and usually quite expensive. I've been debating freeing mine simply on the principle that it's too rich for my needs. But I'm derailing the real topic here.

Yeah I understand. It would be great if Jens Schoenefeld developed a memory expansion for the CD32. All I think the machine is that, a chunk of good Fast RAM to run WHDLoad and that's all. Accelerating it is unnecessary.
I'd get an SX32, but they are like 3 or 4 hundred pounds if not more, and rarely available!!! |

Where is this thread? That's a real shame.
I'd like to contribute. |

How much would you pay for one if it ever got produced? Because dont forget, this is not a CD32 ACA equivalent. It would also need a motherboard connector, hard drive controller as well as memory.

Found the thread.
Memory expansions like this? I don't know, depends on the spec. If it's just RAM or if it has a CF HD possibility.. i'd think a device like this is well worth 60 to 80 euros? I am thinking something like the fĂșria A600 accelerator... This is exactly what I don't want to pay for: http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=26107 |
