Easily get files from Windows to OS4

I do my programming on the Windows side still because it has better text editors. It was then a chore to get the source code to OS4.1FE in WinUAE. I would have 2 WinUAE's running: A4000 OS3.9 and OS4.1FE. Go to OS3.9, copy files to a floppy, eject. Go to OS4.1, insert floppy, copy files off floppy to HD. Compile. Painfully slow process. There has to be a better way.....

It dawned on me: run an FTP server on my Windows machine, log in to on the Amiga with pFTP (Pete's FTP) or AmiFTP and download the files!

I use FileZilla FTP Server. Easy to set up. Here is a YouTube videos:

I did have to go into my router and set up Port Forwarding for port 21.

NOTE: The current download is LOADED with malware!!! Be sure to decline installing anything extra. The actual installer will be extracted to same folder; run that.

FileZilla is great and free too! Just a piece of advice. Sometimes you have to change connection type from passive to active mode, otherwise transfers fail e.g. Xbox 360

There is FTPMount which lets you mount any FTP server as a drive in AmigaOS.

I have a nas running samba, then mount all my OS4.1 project folders with ami samba and smb mounter.
