Help with amiga 1200 external scsi cd-drive

Hello!
I have a problem trying to get an external SCSI CD-drive to work on my amiga.
I'm using workbench 3.1 and blizzard 1230IV with SCSI kit.

The CD-drive is Matsushita CR-503-B and it's connected with this adapter cable seen in the picture. The drive and the cable have been tested on win98 pc and they appear to be working.

I have installed this driver from aminet:
https://aminet.net/package/disk/cdrom/amicdfs240

When i try to connect the drive, well... nothing happens.
I'm wondering if i need different drivers or maybe the drive or the cable are not compatible with amiga.

Please describe what you did.

You have to copy AmiCDFS to Sys:L, copy CD0 to Sys:Devs/DosDrivers and then edit CD0. Change DEVICE to the name of the SCSI driver (probably something like 1230scsi.device, consult the documentation of the SCSI kit) and UNIT to the SCSI ID of the CD drive.

You must not connect the drive under power.

Power off all components. Connect the cables. Power on the CD drive. Power on the Amiga. Wait until Workbench appears. Insert a CD. If CD0 is installed correctly, an icon should appear.

It was the editing of CD0 that i was missing.

Another way to approach this is to use IDEfix97’ where it would have detected the drive and setup the driver and mount point for you.
Glad you managed to sort it.
