Right, got CF HD going, WHDLoad installed, couple of minor issues need sorting now...

Hi all

Right, following on from my last thread, between myself and chaoticjelly on eBay we have resolved my issues with the Kingston CF 4Gb card. I'm up and running. I do however, have some strange things going on.

Firstly, sound issues I've noticed in a couple of games. In PP Hammer, and New Zealand Story, I have music, but no FX (drill for example in PP Hammer.) It may be present in other titles but these are where I've noticed it.

Secondly, a couple of titles (Jurassic Park AGA, McDonald Land) when loading seem to flick in and out of a black screen. Jurassic Park takes forever to load, with the screen flicking in and out and then runs very slowly. McDonald Land, I see a glimpse of the main screen and it flicks to black very quickly, never too return.

These don't happen under WinUAE, I've tried two CF cards set up the same way so it's not that. I'm running an A1200 with Viper 1230 with 4Mb.

Any help, most appreciated

Oh and I've got KS 3.0 Roms installed in the A1200

Sound problem sorted, I'd wired the red/white coax in incorrectly so I wasn't getting any right channel audio. Noob error

Not sure if anyone can help me with the first issue?

Also, what RAM do I need for the Viper 1230. I know it's a 72 pin SIMM but can I use EDO?

Cheers

About the screen flicking when loading, make sure to use the PRELOAD tooltype if you got enough RAM.

Send a message via MSN to dlfrsilver
Here it is, you do a left click on the launch icon of the game (ex: jurassic Park).

And you have this :

Slave=JurassicParkAGA.slave
Preload

This is how it must be, you add the PRELOAD tooltype just after the "slave=" line.

If not i will upload my Jurassic Park AGA whdload installed version in the zone.

You could try a Shell command load. Close all windows to save Chipram.

WHDLoad JurassicParkAGA.slave Preload

Got it working by disabling Copper background and FreeWheel in ClassicWB. Still having this flicking/slow running when it eventually loads problem.

The WHDLoad installed Jurassic Park AGA runs a bit too slow, this is a known problem. But the flickering shouldn't be there with Preload. Strange, the AGA game needs app. 1850-1900KB Chipram+0,5MB Fastram.
