Magic Island: The Secret Of Stones *RPG*

Good morning Amigans,

I just wandered through the Hall of Lights today and I found out about this game (again).

Was it really released?

If so, please tell me!
I´m very interested in playing this good looking RPG.

Maybe you could upload it to the zone?

Thank you very much

Have a nice sunday.

As Viddi said it IS sad

It's a pity that communications breaks lead to so many things disapearing.

But when your chosen interest is Retro media it is always suprising that no records are left anywhere.

Maybe it is possible to track down one of the team by spreading the search across other boards

From which country was the original developer from AndreasM ???

That would be the place to start

when i renember right italian. but dont sure.

i dont think that someone found the coders on another board. all what i found many years ago is that the flood (or somthing) damage there house, computer, all sources and so on. after this disaster they never do anything with a computer. we have finished the package and all on (big package in our stock ) and cant release the game :/

but nice, yesterday i search some files for another project and see beside the last beta (or demo) from the game on a backup cd

Maybe they reviewed only a demo/preview version (?)*

@AndreasM: Did you work on the game yourself, or are from the publisher staff?
And while I'm at it, do you have a demo somewhere you can distribute (even a non playbable one)?

i dont sure if signum release the czech version. the czech version have the same bugs as the english version. and i dont think that signum release a buggy version.

but some mags write a review from the beta-version (german mag "amiga games", too).

we have work with the publisher signum and with the coders direct. at last we dont work with signum (trouble with testament) and work only with the coders direct. the coders stop to work with signum.

Thankyou for taking the time to search for this AndreasM

I know that we also have Italian members here, that may be able to recall more local information regarding this game.

As you correctly state it is possible the Czech version is nothing more than an "pirated" copy of the original buggy demo & it will proberly have some Additions that make it unuseable for it to be "fixed".

Obviously any master disc copy you have still requires a thorough search to trace authors before it can be close to public release

I think that this time we are making progress with doing things the right way

Why release a Czech version if the guy is from Italy. Wouldn't it be fair to assume he's from Czech Republic, but mayby living in Italy.

But for a start we could get one who speak polish to contact the dude on this site http://www.rpg.bajtnet.pl/amigacd/acd32.htm (email at the buttom) asking him about the copy of the game (It seams to be a CD32 version). He might be helpfull

Yes very true. It was the case before, it's even more true now that newspaper are in competition with news Websites (wich are updated much more often).

I believe that's why we have seen some tests of Amiga games that was never released (and are still not rendered public today).

I think having games complete, almost complete or as a pre-beta state that are never released or made public is really a bad thing. Of course the legal and moral ways are really understandable. But every project that have been setup and use a lot of energy from their creators should see the light one day and don't sleep until they are completly forgotten or just lost forever. Forgetting these projects is bad for the history of computer games (what I see the emulation scene is, at least in part).

By the way, I see the game is also listed on this site (french) :
http://obligement.free.fr/articles/listejeuxamigam.php

But in the header they says "game wich have a playable demo or pre version are also listed" so it doesn't help I guess. They don't even notice the game language and they just labeled it as "AGA", they don't speak about the CD/CD32 support.

Hi to all!

Thanks for your help! :-)
Maybe we´ll dig this game out again....if there ever was a final version.

Well I just did some surfing, and starting with the name of the dudes who made the game, tells me they are from Czech Republic

Artist - coder Libor Andrysek, Vladimir Ondrusek

Artist - graphician Martin Malina, Rene Hilek

Artist - musician Vladimir Ondrusek

Artist - misc Libor Andrysek

I found this on Rene Hilek
He did this lovely picture:
http://galerie.3dscena.cz/details.ph...526d7c6d49663c
or the same http://kresby.grafika.cz/details.php...16039a86c675d7

And guess he also member of this band
http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=33784
http://musica.mustdie.ru/ru/band/hypnos/6335

And dont know if this is the same as the artist on the games, but since this is the only hits I get when searching on his name, I would guss it's the same. And Heavy metal & rpg fits nicely together

no, i dont think the czech version is illegal. signum was a official publisher from the coders, too.
