Exile again

Couple of things:

Just started playing Exile. I didn't understand what the fuss was all about a few years ago, but I'm getting into it now.

I need a solution to it. I could bang my head against the wall until I work certain things out, but to be honest, I can't be bothered. I don't want to spend that much time with it. I found a German one, but the babelfish translation is a bit confusing. I download the WHD version from AIAB and it has a solution in the archive, but it's for the BBC version and is different to the Amiga one.

Also, has the AIAB version been fixed? I've got the original here, so could WHDLoad it myself, but it's a swine transferring it to my PC to use in WinUAE (I prefer to sit on my couch with my laptop than "over there" on my Amiga). Has anyone got the 100% HD version ready to be uploaded?

Ta.

Well the AIAB version is not 100%. It just did the insert DF0 thing and then crashed. Damn.

If you have the original the ipf (caps) image is 100% on winuae.

I guess you can arrange/discuss that with Fiath personally soon

You can find it here. It's quite big though. If you can do it, I'll send you whichever item is not chosen for whoever comes up with the backup program I'm looking for (either a Psygnosis badge or a Commodore diskbox).

BTW, I've just installed it to my Amiga with the latest Installer. Works fine now. It's not a problem getting onto my PC like It thought: It's only 770k.

When I said fine....I meant nearly fine.

There is a small problem whereby the (real) Amiga will reset if there is no Disk.2 file present in the Exile directory. Disk.2 is the save disk and does not come with the game.

I've got an A4000T with WB3.1 and a CyberstormPPC (060).

Hi... I`m pretty far into the game.. got stuck. and had a peek at your translation

I`m having trouble understanding where you mean...

this is a part of your translation : -
From the entrance tarn, follow the tunnel again past the shell to the right, where you can just give full scope to your baser human instincts by taking out all frog manikins, maggots ... and maybe even Imps, too. You can even make the bouncing bombs destroy their own launching base by just repelling them with your PX312. Now you can pick up the RCD for the heavy ordnance from your ship

Entrance Tarn ? and I babelfished a bit and it came up with entrance pool I think ?

any ideas

Yeah, entrance pool is fine.
But "tarn" does also exist, it's a pool in the mountains. (German: "Gebirgssee", "Tümpel").

A tarn or pool is usually swampier than a pond...that's where I was trying to point to...
If it sounds too strange though, I will remember to use 'pool' in next update.
Just write here if you have more problems in understanding the walkthrough.

"Gebirgssee" is "mountain lake". I have never heard the word "tarn" too...

At the moment.. I`m trying to get the big gun down to where it`s needed I think..
I got it past a door.. and I`m trying to get through the same door have to shoot at a switch, teleport and try and drop through in the water ( where the gun is ) in time!!
it`s a bastard! tried it about 50 times last night!

Question

are you talking about the area where you get teleported to a cliff edge next to a door. Where the big wind tunnel is. If you are then you need to use a granade to propell the cannon in the air then quickly get underneath it using boosters to push it into the door way. If you have trouble try using your robot friend but disabling him and shooting the cannon on top of him so the cannon propells a bit more..

if im talking about the completly wrong area send a screenshot in...

Getting cronium rocks to the west

This is my problem: I can't find a way to get the cronium rocks over from the east to the west, can anyone help me? The walkthrough isn't all that clear at this point.
My problem is those big clams, or whatever they're called. One of them (at the bottom of the map with all the water) blows me away, when I'm carring cronium. If I try to get the rock the other way, via the tunnels with the spiders, there's another clam which sucks the rock in. I thought of getting slimes past the clams and and making the cronium rocks at the other side, but the only acid I've found at the other side of the clams is behind a closed underwater door which I can't figure out how to open (near where the anti-radiation pill is).
Can anyone help?
