IRC is not dying anytime soon, but people willing to use it declines all the time, like all old "things". There are channels on quite a few networks still though.

Discord is nice for those who can not bother to get into/never used IRC.

I would add, with some resurgence every once in a while, as (vinyl) records and HAM radio come to mind. IRC has not yet gone through a resurgence period, AFAIK.

additionally, you can join the chat on twitch.tv/amigalive which is a twitch channel and serves as a true IRC replacement/successor (twitch channels are compatible with IRC clients) and watch games being played by viewers or you can view demos and listen to Amiga mod music in between games.

if the stream is offline, simply type in !startstream to activate it, many hesitate to start it but once online they start playing ;-)
