Monkey Island 2
I grabbed the MI2 game the other night and discovered that when I load it up it asks for a voodoo recipe solution to get into the main game itself. Does anyone have a solution to this? If so, please let me know.
BTW - keep up the work on this site - it's nice to see such a decent amiga fan site |

You need a cracked version of the game unless you actually have the codebook.
Get a cracked version from here - Monkey Island |

Ooh I wonder where the fuck is my Flash wheel, it was a dev thing for CAPS that never got used.
If I find it I will post it somewhere. Oh sorry, I remembered now, that it was a Monkey Island 1 flash wheel. If somebody gives me the scans for the MI2 wheel, I would gladly do it. |

The scans are in the zone.
Credit goes to CAPS and whoever scanned them, I got them from the MI2 caps release. |

No, actually I believe Dizzy has a point. Because some time ago I asked the CAPS guys for the scans for Space Quest 3 (I wanted it to make a showcase 3d box for a friend of mine), but they did NOT want to share 'em. Personally I think the box ought to be free from copyright issues since it's an advertisment for the game in itself, but they did not agree. So IOW let's say you scanned it yerself - for the sake of peace

I do actually have the codewheel myself but I've never used it because of whdload. I also never used it because one of my disks has BIG corruptions on it and it just refuses to go any further without massive gfx glitches.
If the caps team want the file removed I'm sure the mods will do so, I appologise if it's not acceptable to post it, I never really thought much about as it wasn't a game itself. Sorry! |

I think the *whole* release shouldn't be uploaded. I'll let RCK decide.
And fisken, you got bounced, because the CAPS team is not supposed to give out anything. Theye were not being egoistic, just sticking to their guidelines. If SQ3 was released you surely can find the manual somewhere |

I did NOT blame the CAPS guys. They're doing a great job and I respect their rules. That's why I warned killer! And it wasn't the manual I wanted but the box scans including the sides, so that I could create a nice 3d VRML box of it... But never mind now.

If the game is hd-installed or you start it from the shell you should be able to bypass protection with the parameter '10001' eg "monkey2 10001"
This is a bootparam that is present in the scripts in (all?) versions of mi2, I think it works for the amiga version, its a long time since I tried it. For Fate Of Atlantis its 57663 and I'm pretty sure that one works on the amiga version. |
