Best Flight Sim on Amiga OCS?
F/A-18 Interceptor was ace in the olden days. Bomber also got quite a bit of playtime. Also played Birds of Prey.
Anyone have suggestions of an 'immersive despite primitive vector graphics' OCS flight sim? Let's hear it! The flight sim you spent ages on, or gave you a sense of freedom or enjoyment of just flying, or the flight sim that actually made you want to complete missions! ![]() I really don't know any more flight sims except Falcon and that heli game with circles instead of rotors. If I get a bunch of game names I'll create a poll! |

F-16 Combat Pilot, Played this for many years, I even printed a keyboard layout sheet with all the different shortcuts for all the stuff you could do
![]() Used to us one of the experimental aircraft for flying really high only to find, when I headed back to earth, that the world I was protecting was really square and flat ![]() |

On my A500 I used to play F/A-18 (really good and simple flight sim) and F-19 Stealth Fighter. And there was helicopter sim Thunderhawk. I tried some other sims but I wasn't interested in them. Probbably because I'm not into real simulations, I like more simulations with arcade elements in it.

Fair enough, I guess. The key word for us OCS/ECS folks is old. Was mainly to check for more sims that 'had something', like Interceptor did.

For me the best was F15 II. Of course I like Interceptor, Fighter Bomber, Knights of the sky also, and could mention Armour Geddon I-II although that's not strictly flightsim, but F15 had the most detailed gfx with amazing speed together on a plain A500. Loved the copper background sky in fixed camera positions in external views. BTW landing with Fighter B. was truly exciting, was so proud when first did it.
![]() Interceptor isn't a bad game, but somehow I feel myself in it as on a patrol at dawn (or dusk) because of the colors. |

Yes indeed. I played it thoroughly on my A500. But never got to finish it. Maybe some day I go back to it. You guys are making me feel nostalgic. ![]() |

F/A-18 Interceptor's the daddy but I also used to like F29 Retaliator, which I suppose is more of a vector graphics aeroplane shoot 'em up than a sim in terms of the way the gameplay works, and its helicopter equivalent Thunderhawk which kicks bottom too.

Interceptor is the king, if only for the intro music!
Knights of the Sky was a fantastic experience in two player serial link mode!! We must not forget about Coala ! http://hol.abime.net/3053 |
